I remember being in Florida, summer 93, a few weeks after losing to Swindon.

My dad phoned my brother at home, the first thing discussed was that we'd just signed David Speedie.

Ruined my holiday. Begged my dad to take my season ticket back.

Fast forward 12 months, I was gutted that Speedie couldn't play in the Play-Off final against Derby.

He had a massive part in getting us there though.

yeah, he scored some crucial goals for us..

I might still call the police if I see him going through a red light though...

Twice for me - Tranmere and Man Utd, was too young to really appreciate Tranmere and could barely see a thing but I'm at least grateful to have been at it. Man Utd whilst not the most competitive game was still a great day out - and don't forget that if we win the FA Cup, we get that Wembley trip, with what should be a proper crowd by that point.

Trying not to imagine what we're being robbed of this weekend but my god it's tricky and has been all season.

Did anyone find the community shield game lacklustre? Normally when you go to Wembley you’re nervous and excited. That time around I wasn’t really into it. Our end was terrible, too many day trippers. The play off games, our ends where really good. I’m know the play offs have much more riding on them then the community shield but I reckon it would be the same if we got to the fa cup final and fans where allowed in. The new Wembley is pants it’s too American for me. People buying popcorn and candy floss !!!! The old Wembley was a shit hole but a magical  iconic shit hole. Remember years ago watching Portsmouth vs spurs semi final at new Wembley  and the Portsmouth fans where the loudest I’ve ever heard through a tv. That’s the end I dream of for a fa cup final.

My abiding memory apart from Ibrahimovic nodding in their winner was an absolute willy puller near us, some speccy bloke who looked like a maths teacher but couldn't string three words together without swearing at someone, getting into a fist fight with someone for having the nerve to stand in their seat ... like everyone else was around him. That happened just as Vardy scored our goal and it ruined the moment for me. It was the first Leicester goal i'd ever seen at Wembley and I was distracted by that **** instead.

Pretty rotten day all round. Actually enjoyed our 4-5 loss to Spuds there more, even if it doesn't really 'count' - at least our end was buzzing that day rather than, as you say, a day-tripper's paradise.

In my lifetime ive done them all. Blackburn, Swindon, Derby and Palace. Then Spurs, Middlesbrough and Tranmere. Man Utd in the charity shield. First game at the new wembley England vs Brazil plus countless other England games at the old and new stadium.

I went to all the 90s games except Derby for which I couldn’t get a ticket. Not helped by being told by a mate after the match that he’d got me a ticket, but gave it away because he didn’t have my phone number with him. Some fvckin mate.

I loved the O’Neill years, starting with Palace and Spider Kalac’s last game for us and ending with Tranmere. They were brilliant times and I’m just hoping I get a chance to see us win there again.

I did spurs and Tranmere then Man United charity shield. Tranmere was a brilliant day. Actually enjoyed Liverpool v Barcelona the day before the charity shield much more. Had a much better view and no tw*t behind me telling me to sit down every 3 minutes!!

Been banging this drum for a while. People are eager for Americanisation; they crave it.

Unfortunately it's piped to us through almost every element of the zeitgeist. Americanism = good. It's happening to our national game.

On the subject of Wembley - Every Wembley appearance from 1994 onwards. Some great, great days out.

The old Wembley was so important to the identity of football and the national game and was a colosseum of football. Pure, unadulterated football. New Wembley, whilst very pretty, has had monster trucks roaring around the pitch before Leicester City. It's a magnificent, but non-football, feeling to the place. The Charity Shield was a great day out for sure, and awesome to see us play at the National Stadium, but there wasn't a feeling of 'oh my god we're here'.

Went to Blackburn, Derby, and Palace playoffs, missed Swindon.

Went to Middlesbrough and Tranmere League Cups, missed Spurs

My favourite was Derby they had spent big and were clear favourites,

we scored the winner at a great time, long enough to celebrate properly

but not so long that it became nervous.

Palace was the best.

I swear that everyone who was there said time stood still and the whole place was silent as the winner went in.

I can still picture Nigel Martyn in slow motion watching the ball pass him.

I went to a few, but Palace was the best. Not only for the result etc, but for the fact that we totally bossed the game - every player gave their all and the win was thoroughly merited. I was in line with the Claridge winner, very high up. I was on my feet with my arms in the air, feeling silly until I heard the roar.

i am lucky enough to be going to the game tomorrow with my two sons

im sure it will be an odd experience

but there will be at least three Leicester fans in the crowd

3 shillings entrance fee for the 49 final! (for teenagers that's 15p)

...a tad disingenuous, average weekly wage in 1950 was £7.08 per week (equivalent of £499.00 per week in todays money)!!!

In todays money it would be about £17-18.00p, it is all relative.

Fair point. However this calculator works out of the that 3 shillings in 1950 would be worth £4.68 in 2017(as far as it goes year wise).

Was at the 4 play off finals in the 90s, the 3 League Cup finals in 97,99 and 2000, and the CS game. Some amazing memories but oddly that Steve Thompson goal to complete a comeback from 3 down v Swindon was perhaps the single most thrilling moment of all of these games, even though we went on to lose. It was absolute carnage in the stands with bodies and limbs everywhere.

Never heard of him, or have any recollection of reading up about him, but from your description all I can say is what a man 👏

Yes the team gave everything and were totally committed but also had a lot of flair with Parker, Muzzy, Emile and Claridge.

A great game and an unbelievable ending.
