The younger generation aren’t as interested in watching football as it is now.

I keep saying it, the TikTok generation will prefer to watch goals, skills and back to back games like basketball. Not a boring 0-0 played out.

The Premier League is the current Super League.

The Kings League with professional players is the future.

If the Premier League did something of that ilk now and streamed it on Netflix, it would draw in Millions of people to watch it.

These teams won't stop till there is some sort of Super league that suits them.

Ans I think in Spain and Italy there is support for it too.

They’re all just trying to compete to get Premier League money. In reality, if they want it, let them form it themselves with teams from Italy, Portugal and Spain. Germany didn’t want it. I’m guessing PSG will want in.

The new UEFA competition format is a joke really.

It’ll only work if the fans buy into it. Reality is, it’ll be a tourist league.

Years ago, teams would go for years without playing each other! The games were bigger then, than they are now. A Real Madrid Vs Juventus game would feel special as they’d play each other once in a European cup every 4 years.

Each season, may as well be watching Barca Vs Madrid, or Milan Vs Inter.

Let them have there European circus.

But no fa cup no league cup

and no prem. Once gone you have no return.

Then tell the players no international football or return to any of the above ever.

Eventually, the “world elite” will break away into a separate league system like a PES Master league…… it’s what the big money makers want, and it’s ultimately what they will get.

With the birth of alternative sporting bodies like LIV sports etc, it will eventually work its way into football.

Always thought the Premier league would make a killing if they set up their own TV package/station and showed every football game under their name.

Surly it would be better for fans too as it wouldn't be across 3 platforms like it is now.

Cannot wait to see Rodolno in the Master League.

It will happen eventually, the people involved aren't used to taking no for an answer so they'll keep pushing, throwing money at it, and paying off whoever they need to. It's happened in other sports already.

For the likes of us and other major European leagues it will be bad. But for supporters from everywhere else it will be seen as good. The markets around the world want to see Ryan Reynolds Wrexham playing Leo Messi's Inter Miami, not Palace versus Brentford. It will all become about brand and celebrity, with no relegation, and fans who will support the spectacle rather than a team.

They don’t want to leave the PL they want the Super League as well  instead of UEFAs offerings so they can get all the money from the European games.

They will if they think it can be sustained. Now that the gulf nations and the states are really interested in the game, that’s all they want. A cluster of the best teams playing one another.

If they did it, it might not be a bad thing. The youngsters of today and "fans" from Asia, Africa etc that just like "big clubs" and "big players" can watch them in this shite league as much as they want whilst the older football fans (probably aged 30 up) can carry on supporting proper football at the "smaller clubs". We might not have all the big name players but we can actual get proper football back into our league rather than the bore fest that currently is the Premier league.

I've no doubt, however, that the Premier league will already have plans in place to stop this. It is the richest league in the world and they are not going to just hand over their profits to some organisers of a super league.

The main people that would suffer from this, aside from the PL, is the actual match going fans of the big clubs, as they aren't going to want to travel round the world every other week to watch their team. Most real football fans love away days but most won't be willing to travel round the world for every away game.

This is where there is potential for a major conflict between the owners of the big clubs and the fans of those clubs (I'm referring to those who actually go to games, not just want on TV). Would an American owner of a PL club consider leaving the PL to join a European or global super league? Very likely. Would the fans of that club want to give up domestic football for a global exhibition league with zero jeopardy and very little scope for away travel? I don't think they would.

The PL needs to make it clear that there is no option for the big clubs to have their cake and eat it. If they want to join an effective closed shop, fine - but if they do they cannot continue to participate in domestic competition. It will be interesting to see how they try to sell that to the fans.

I'm not sure the owners would care too much about the fans opinion. If they know they can make more money in this esl than they do from season ticket holders/match going fans, then that's what they'll do. We all know most money in football now comes through tv rather than ticket sales.

Agree though that they should not be allowed to compete in any domestic comps if they do this.

There also won't be any opposition from the players as they'll just look at their potential pay cheques rather than the impact it has on football/fans etc.

In all honesty, Parliament should get involved.

A law banning British teams from joining a Super League would be popular.

I don't think it is inevitable - the only real support is from US owners and "Big" teams in Spain and Italy. The real problem with the Super League is the reality that it is designed to be a bigger national league - some of the teams who are giants in their countries will become minnows in a Super League, to be fed to Barcelona and Real Madrid.

I think they'd struggle to make such a move if the fans were clearly against it. The government would likely get involved and the pressure on them to relent would be enormous. Politically. I just don't see any UK government standing by and allowing a foreign owner to rip one of our big clubs out of domestic football against the wishes of the club's fans.

Premier league TV - all the games under one roof

Rugby Union used to have an amazing European weekend. I think you could watch every match in the pub outside the stadium, pausing only to watch the game inside the stadium. Sadly that changed with many more clubs being involved. The premier league seems to have no interest in showing less than the minimum amount of games allowed for some teams, never mind every premier league match. There is multiple tv channels showing the premier league due to competition rules I believe.

I'll keep repeating myself - the type of "fan" this is trying to cater for doesn't care about teams, they prefer to support players. So just have a bunch of new Franchises.

No need to rip clubs away from communities, just let prospective owners bid for a Franchise team. It can be world wide or just European. A franchise can groundshare/facility share with an existing club, unless of course they want to build their own stadium.
