He's been setting a media narrative for ages. He'll be in with an 'outside' shot and his agent will be working overtime to generate a buzz.

I can see it on a caretaker basis - remember he's pretty good at coming in and improving what's already there.

If we'd sacked him and paid him off at the end of last season, or before the season as he clearly wanted, then he might be well placed to get that job now on a caretaker basis at least.

Pochettino is available though.

Zero chance Chelsea are interested in Rodgers; they will probably go for Potter.

Zidane is waiting for the France job as it'll be available after the WC, no matter how well they do.

If Abramovich was still the owner, there would be a possibility of him moving there. They had an excellent personal relationship, he used to give his son 1-1 football coaching.

There is normally the post match coverage from the club twitter and a steady drip feed of stuff through the week though

Having had a look it does seem quieter than normal, but the training stuff we won’t know until tomorrow at the earliest.

Who would have thought Tuchel would get dismissed before Rodgers?

Well definitely not all the punters who dumped a load of money on Rodgers being the next to be sacked.

Whilst I don't think it will happen.

Rodgers to Chelsea isn't as far-fetched as some would think.

His and the general media narrative is around little Leicester being the problem not him.

Anyone realistically touting Potter and dismissing Rodgers for the job is not taking in the wider context, and only focusing on the last 12 months.

The new owner has just made Abramovich look patient in sacking managers

I think Rodgers should resign immediately and get his CV in at Chelsea toot sweet. It's his ideal job. I don't want us to hold him back.

Shows what a good job he does with the media to even be linked to the Chelsea job whilst you’re bottom and currently a massive failure

100% this.

It also shows that the football punditocracy judges managers according to a facile “how much money have they had” metric.

There is also the point that owners rarely comment publicly, whilst players are media-trained perfectly to say nothing at all in pre-or post match interviews.

The manager has quite an advantage when it comes to determining the media narrative around their own performance.

Rodgers is so smarmy he's probably already told the American owners they are wonderful human beings, they are so humble and he really loves what they have done at Chelsea.

In all fairness, his agent will be all over this. Let’s hope he pulls a Puel and interviews like a charm.

Why

On paper Rodgers's last 3 years:

PL: 5th, 5th, 8th

FA Cup win, ECL semi-final, LC semi final.

Potter: 15th, 16th, 9th.

One 5 round.

The world sees Rodgers different to us.

I bet Rodgers is kicking himself.

Instead of throwing his dummies out the pram making stupid decisions to try and get sacked maybe if we’ve have had a respectable start to the season Chelsea May have considered Rodgers

Probably not been sacked because Chelsea have already contacted us about his availability. Top kept his cool and didn’t laugh during the call, but had a party once he put the phone down

Don’t think Rodgers going there is as unrealistic as some make out. It might have gone totally stale here but his record still speaks for itself.

He’s comfortably 3rd or 4th favourite and the bookies initial betting reflects that.

I know it's tempting to suggest all of the big six are run by idiots and that Chelsea don't know what they're doing but they're not hiring a guy that's won four league games this calendar year or whatever it is.

I also doubt they're that impressed by two fifth place finishes given our situation.

The media might see Rodgers differently to us but if Chelsea have a lick of sense they won't be just recruiting their next manager on tabloid reputation. I don't think they'll go near Potter either but I do think they'd recognise that at very least Potter's career is trending in a better direction.
