Cadno'r Cymoedd Posted 15 August 2021 Posted 15 August 2021 Will be an interesting trip next to the East End watching this...
Pliskin Posted 15 August 2021 Posted 15 August 2021 Slightly concerned watching this. West Ham look decent coming forward but pretty shaky at the back. Going to be an interesting one next week that’s for sure.
rn9013 Posted 15 August 2021 Posted 15 August 2021 What a great game for the neutral this has been! I’d probably feel a bit aggrieved about the pen if I were a Geordie though. Looked like he played the ball onto the legs. 1

turlo Posted 15 August 2021 Posted 15 August 2021 West Ham picking up where they left off last season. A bit iffy at the back and very deadly on the counter with Antonio a real handful up top.
Pliskin Posted 15 August 2021 Posted 15 August 2021 They remind me a lot of our title winning side (obviously not as good) but they’re not littered with show stoppers, but they got structure, pace, a little bit of flair and some grit and determination. Decent side.

Don’t use the word winger on this forum, the tacticians will go mad. They don’t exist anymore apparently, they’re ‘wide forwards’ now. 1
st albans fox Posted 15 August 2021 Posted 15 August 2021 Let’s hope that rice’s calf and Antonio’s hamstring do their stuff over the next week !

I think he will go for a 5 at the back. What I’ve seen in this game from west ham is it’s not just Antonio who can carry them up the pitch, it’s the entire midfield plus the wing backs….. obviously leaves them a bit frail at the back, but if we get the defensive side sorted then we can cause them issues. It’s why the win over Wolves was so good, we had to dig in, probably going to be the same on Wednesday, under the cosh for large portions of the game.

HighPeakFox Posted 15 August 2021 Posted 15 August 2021 Rated WHU last season and I saw no reason not to rate them this either - evidently their manager is no clown. 1
CrispinLA in Texas Posted 15 August 2021 Posted 15 August 2021 Can't understand Lingard, at West Ham he would be playing with this talented West Ham side for 90 mins, but prefers just sitting on the bench in the Man U squad 1
