What are we hoping for from the other CL matches currently being played?

Olympiacos, Benfica and Dynamo Zagreb would be nice. All higher ranked than us

None of the 4 white teams above us have easy paths, though expecting all 4 to go out might be tough.

Of the top pot anyone outside the top 4 and I think we’d be favourites.

We are a top 5 team in this competition before the CL teams drop down.  Think most teams will be looking to avoid us. Not to bothered by the draw. We could get a difficult group but I fancy us going through whatever group we get.

Not a great sign for travelling supporters, no away support permitted at the international break September fixtures

Is that a blanket ban? Because Germany fans are allowed to buy tickets to Liechtenstein away (played in Switzerland). Or maybe punishment for England after the EURO final malarky!

Blanket ban judging it's come from the Fans Federation of Europe.

I have just been looking at the entry requirements for the countries which have teams whom have qualified - very 50/50 split if they permit with full vaccination to quarantine(or test to release).

Would need a big result swing now to make Pot 1.

Could have a group as difficult as Napoli, Sociedad & Galatasaray

That would be a class group! Would probably be on a par with our Champions League group from a 2016, and we could easily win a group like that too.

Though "easier" games could be better for the overall goal of winning the entire competition, I think for our club to keep progressing it's better to have experience of tricky games against good teams. In just the last few months we've beaten both Champions League finalists! We can beat anyone on our day.

Plenty of Villareal fans in Belfast today for the European charity shield thingy.

Bubble trip - https://www.villarrealcf.es/en/news/item/31368-important-information-for-fans-travellling-to-belfast - very much like our FA Cup Final, certain rules you have to follow. Much in UEFA's favour to have some supporters from both clubs there.

I have had a good look today at some of the entry requirements for some of the countries in the group stages. I would say little to no chance that fans from the clubs of the UK can travel unless there is an exemption for bubble trips etc. Re-entering the UK doesn't look a problem at all provided you've been vaccinated. However countries as Russia, Sweden, Denmark, Italy, Ukraine all have quarantine or insurance requirements or travel bans (with very specific exemptions). Only Spain, Germany, France and Portugal are allowing UK citizens with proof of vaccination

St. Johnstone - Galtasaray going the distance it seems then! Be cracking if they pull it off.

Meanwhile, the rate it's going, Spurs may be playing the likes of TNS or Dundalk in the Conference League. Living the dream. lol
