Vom. 🤢

I absolutely hate the term ‘persistent standing’. What if your team keep scoring? 😂

Went to see Hamilton Forge play here yesterday. Was actually my first time seeing a Canadian Premier League match. Had best intentions to go see them when the league was announced a couple years ago, but I kind of got sidetracked with personal sh*t and then Covid.

Was an entertaining enough match and all our goals were decent. Nice to come away with the win over the rivals from down the QEW.

Tickets were free from a friend, but I'd pay to see them play again.

Me and my buddy even bought kits they had on sale at the game.

Curious if @OntarioFox or anyone here attends the matches?

There was some decent skill shown by a few of the players, but the quality is a notch below MLS for sure.

Hamilton at least are the best of the league, although I couldn't help but think they'd get their asses handed to them by Notts County.

It was just nice to be out and the supporters having a nice time.

Can the 2 year World Cup idea just be launched ASAP please. No interest in this other than fifa want more moneys (like everyone else naturally). I don’t think the 4 cycle is broken so it doesn’t need “fixing”.

Anyone know what's going in the Brazil game? Watching on some foreign stream. Went out the room for a minute and now Argentina have walked back to the dressing room.

Something to do with Brazilian health aurothorities saying the Argie UK based players should be isolating not playing.

Yeah just managed to find an English language stream. Laughable. Why wait until the match started 🤣

Apparently the PL Brazilian players didn’t travel so some are saying is this Brazil getting the game called off ?

How can players be that stupid?

Woah now. Sorry, I know we all love a dig at footballers for being idiots, especially when it comes to covid protocol.

But this is entirely down to administration.

If I'm going away on international duty as a footballer, I expect the team's management (and I don't mean the head coach, I mean it's administrative management) to have worked out all the logistics, the legal stuff, the visas. It's my job just to turn up and play, I'm in charge of me and my passport that's basically it. You deal with the itinerary and the legal stuff.

This is either a failing of the Argentinian FA for not doing their due diligence, or it's the fault of the Brazilian authorities for messing them around and being unclear with the rules or reneging on any agreement they may have had in place between them.

Whichever is responsible should forfeit the game and be fined the sum of the wages for the duration of time their clubs will now lose them for over a wasted exercise.

The cynic in me thinks they're probably both to blame, I imagine Bolsonaro's government are sulking that they're on our red list, given he's a covid denying fascist, and I imagine the Argentine authorities had every understanding this would happen when they called them up.

Ultimately, nobody should also let FIFA off the hook for insisting the games went ahead regardless when this was quite blatantly always on the cards if they did.

What i don't get is how do they let the game kick off before they say hang on a minute you 4 have been in the UK, everyone is fully aware they've been in the UK before the game kicks off and all the fans make the trip etc. It's a joke.

There’s reports that Argentina knew what was coming so locked themselves in the dressing room so the Brazilian authorities couldn’t get in and that’s why it was stopped after kick off. How true that is I guess will come out in the next few days.

Should be pointed out, Brazil deliberately didn’t pick Premier League players for the game for the quarantine reason, so there could be a political aspect too.
