If we could get £60m or more for Soyuncu we should take it imo.

For that sort of money we could get a decent CB like Tarkowski in and have plenty of money to spend on a proper winger.

I wouldn't, perhaps next year as we already need 1 CB this window anyway.

Except next summer he'll be into his final year and the price drops accordingly. We need him to sign a new contract sharpish.

Totally agree and I've been crying out for those to be done since last summer.

I don’t think we will sell a big name player this season but even if we do no way will it be a CB we are already short in this area with only Evans, fofana and soyuncu. We need at least 1 maybe 2 new CBs without selling one especially if we want to play three at the back next season

While I think he's great, if we can get a good price for him, I don't mind the club selling Soyuncu. More generally, I don't mind Leicester making one mega high value sale per year. That's a strategy that has really worked for us recently.

What I wouldn't want is to see him and then a couple of other key players going in the same window (Tielemans, Madders, etc). Tactically and strategically selling one player is sensible. Selling in bulk is a big mistake.

I also don't like seeing good players sold to Man City - regardless of the profit, frankly - because I think their approach of bulk buying players, without any consideration of cost or FFP rules, has a hugely disrupting effect on the game, and in some ways is just as corrupt and corrupting as the Super League plans. See also Man U, Chelsea, etc.

Do man City need another defender?

Theyve got laporte, ake, Diaz and Fernandio.

Can they afford him, Kane and Grealish?

Depends who they're selling.

Allegedly, B Silva and Sterling can both leave.

I highly doubt they really want all these players though. I don't think they really want Grealish and they can probably do better than Cags. Inter have said Skriniar is available for about 50. They'd not get Cags off us for any cheaper than that and I know who I'd rather.

It really depends on what our alternatives are. Cags is obviously great, but i couldn't help but feel his heart wasn't quite in it last season. Obviously no specific evidence for that, but just his body language at times. I guess we don't know what happened behind the scenes with Under, but I imagine there is a lot of disappointment there. He also really doesn't seem to cope well with a back 3, and if there is something we are going to persist with (even if just from time to time) that is a concern moving forwards.

It was rumoured that they were offering Laporte to Spurs as part of a potential deal for Kane.

If we were to sell him it’s likely we could both replace him with another CB and buy a top drawer winger with the money he’d bring. Wouldn’t be far off what is required for Tarkowski and Berardi, for example.

They definitely want grealish - very likely they'll get him too.

I wonder if this is why there's been no recent announcement on his contract with us.

He's easily better than Ake and if he signs for them, their options of Dias, Stones, Laporte and Cags is immense quality.

For the right price I can see him wanting to leave. And for the right price I think I'd be okay with that as long as we can get someone of decent quality to come in as well as improve other parts of the squad (RW!!).

Would be a shame to lose him but compared to who else we've been linked with losing, this could be one I could tolerate, albeit reluctantly anyway.

I really just don't get where he fits in their team. He doesn't start, for me, yet the money being quoted is nearly 90m. He's not worth anywhere near that, it's absurd.

Whilst I recognise he's a very good player, he's also at the same time one of the most over rated in the league - purely by virtue of how insanely he's hyped.

I've said before, and stand by it, I think for his development it'll be a great move, he needs to learn to be a team player and to get his head up more and play for the rest of the side and not just himself. These are all lessons he'll learn from Pep if he wants to get in the side. It'll be brilliant for the English national team having him trained by Guardiola.

But he's nowhere near De Bruyne, he won't do the Gundogan job, he's not a better wide option than Mahrez or probably not Foden even at this point tbf.

I agree with you entirely. They've got sterling who if he played for villa he'd be being hyped up to the same extent.

But they definitely do want him and they think they'll get him. Hes got a release clause.
