Man City don't need another centre half unless they flog Laporte.

If Soyuncu doesn't sign the new deal on the table for him then I can see us selling him but I'd be surprised if its Man City.

I wonder if this is why there's been no recent announcement on his contract with us.

He's easily better than Ake and if he signs for them, their options of Dias, Stones, Laporte and Cags is immense quality.

For the right price I can see him wanting to leave. And for the right price I think I'd be okay with that as long as we can get someone of decent quality to come in as well as improve other parts of the squad (RW!!).

Would be a shame to lose him but compared to who else we've been linked with losing, this could be one I could tolerate, albeit reluctantly anyway.

Would you take Ake as part of a deal? I would with 10-15m on top.  We could hopefully get Tarkowski in too then.

I don't think he would be anywhere near a starter for Man City.  He looks amazing sometimes but there are still flaws in his game that he has not ever really ironed out like rash tackles and he seems to let pressure get to him.  It is no coinsidence that his worst performances seem to be at the end of both seasons when the pressure is really on.

I don't think there is anything in this, except trying to get some leverage in the contract negotiations.

Man City have a very settled centre-half pairing, he wouldn't be guaranteed first team football.

While I think he's great, if we can get a good price for him, I don't mind the club selling Soyuncu. More generally, I don't mind Leicester making one mega high value sale per year. That's a strategy that has really worked for us recently.

What I wouldn't want is to see him and then a couple of other key players going in the same window (Tielemans, Madders, etc). Tactically and strategically selling one player is sensible. Selling in bulk is a big mistake.

I also don't like seeing good players sold to Man City - regardless of the profit, frankly - because I think their approach of bulk buying players, without any consideration of cost or FFP rules, has a hugely disrupting effect on the game, and in some ways is just as corrupt and corrupting as the Super League plans. See also Man U, Chelsea, etc.

Totally agree. Aren't they going for Kane and Grealish as well? They're already significantly better resourced than any other team in terms of players.

Irreplacable players for us are Schmeichel, Ndidi, Tielemans and Vardy. The rest are biddable.

Don't believe a word of it, just a Turkish media outlet blowing smoke up his arse. There have been no solid links to him and now Man City, PSG, Real and Barca are showing interest.

At £60m he is definitely a sell as he's not even a guaranteed starter in a back four for us. I've no problem selling almost any of our players at prices I would consider are probably at their peak values. If you can sell a Soyuncu every year and get in a Daka, Soumare and possibly a Tarkowski then that's great business.

If Man City are serious there's not much we can do if he's interested.

Surprising they's how an interest after the Euros. There are worse defences than Man City's. If he joined them he would be an Amartey like figure instead of a Fofana.

I'd go as far as saying we should be actively looking to make a massive profit on him if the funds are short to strengthen other areas.

I love him on his day but of all the players clubs would be interested in, he is the most replaceable.

So two Center Halves to be replaced this window? And cash left over to buy a winger?

Jon and the rest of the crew better have this all laid out and ready to go. Because if we don't clubs will smell our desperation and hold us hostage. If he is leaving we must have a plan. Be careful what you wish for.

Calm down , just a load of crap from a cheap hack. The only defender who could arguably be available is Dan Amartey.

Agreed, cags is going nowhere

It almost suggests they buy players just to weaken the opposition

I really just don't get where he fits in their team. He doesn't start, for me, yet the money being quoted is nearly 90m. He's not worth anywhere near that, it's absurd.

Whilst I recognise he's a very good player, he's also at the same time one of the most over rated in the league - purely by virtue of how insanely he's hyped.

I've said before, and stand by it, I think for his development it'll be a great move, he needs to learn to be a team player and to get his head up more and play for the rest of the side and not just himself. These are all lessons he'll learn from Pep if he wants to get in the side. It'll be brilliant for the English national team having him trained by Guardiola.

But he's nowhere near De Bruyne, he won't do the Gundogan job, he's not a better wide option than Mahrez or probably not Foden even at this point tbf.

All I keep thinking about is if we brought him and Madders we could have made nearly 150m in profit!!!!

200,000 UKP per week?   He must love the Foxes.

Ok this is making a bit more sense now.. cags out for 60m, tarks in for just under half of that and the rest on Beradi.

Or he's had a better offer elsewhere!

Ake was poor for Man City last season and wasn't great in his last season at Bournemouth either. Would rather keep cags unless we get top dollar

I would be devastated to see Cags leave !!

I know last season wasn't his best but I still think he is one hell of a player.

Not for sale .
