Agent talk before contract negotiations ,see Maddison, Tielemans etc.etc. Cags should want around 80 k a week or at least as much as Fofana.

50m plus Trincao would be a good deal.

Sign Tawkoski and Collins from Stoke for 40m

An acceptable outcome if Barca were to come in for Cags.

Do you mean the ones in the main forum?

They are for discussing the players in general, these threads in the Transfer section are for discussing the players specifically regarding transfer news

Just easier for separate discussions rather than clogging up one thread

Please spare a thought with those with OCD who are freaked out by the same content being discussed in both places 😀

Does he want to play 3 at the back? Or was it because of a depleted squad he felt he had to?

Who knows, but whatever the reason we were crap at it and if it continues with the players we have I doubt we'd make top 6 next season.

It seems that when we've had fit CB's then he's happy to push the wingbacks upfront. It makes sense on the right where we have had issues with Perez and hence Albrighton taking that position and Thomas on the left (we need a 2nd LB behind Barnes when he's back as I'm not sure about Thomas).

I know BR has made a couple of comments this year about going into a diamond but for that we'd need Soumare centrally with Praet on the right and Tielemans on the left. The danger with that is that we've been crap with opposition balls being whipped into the box and into the net.

If it was that simple, wouldn’t Barcelona be doing the same?

I was having a conversation about this with Utd fans about Haaland. I couldn't believe clubs like Utd and Madrid would let him to go to Dortmund when he was obviously going to be a top striker for at least a decade. They argued that they and other elite clubs like Madrid, Barca, PSG etc can't take chances because those players aren't given time so they have to buy the finished article. Those sides would rather let them them develop further even if it means adding 60 million to their price tag. Utd have tried doing it the other way recently with the likes of Wan Bissaka and Dan James and it hasn't really worked for them.

As we have more success with players moving on to bigger clubs and being a kind of shop window like Dortmund or Ajax it will make it easier to to attract players like Tielemans and Fofana. Plus if there is one position we could continue to have success like this with it's centre half - Evans seems like a very good mentor and I don't think it's a coincidence that our centre halves have all been bossing it since Kolo Toure joined the staff.

It's a shame he didn't cut it in the first season and couldn't grasp the English football or language (he studied hard for that so credit to him).

We'd be in a lot better position transfer wise and selling if Cags had have sorted that first year out, with planning beginning last summer for a new deal/sale if necessary.

Losing Cags this summer and possibly Fofana next year could leave us with a thirty year old Tarkowski and mid thirties Jonny Evans. Not a great place to be.

I love Soyuncu but is he even a guaranteed starter next year if we play a back 4? If not and we get a big offer for him it has to be considered. He's a class act but if we can get £50m+ for him and get Tarkowski, a younger CB and a decent winger in for the fee, I think it would be good business.

Are we not allowed to buy further CBs during this time? Will be a disaster if so, of that we can agree.

I don't like replacing players approaching their prime aged 25 and below with players approaching their late 20's whom have never reached the same heights as the younger player they are replacing. That's what Southampton did and other teams that sell their best players do and then wonder what the problem is.

Tarkowski wouldn't be anywhere near the list of players we should target if we did sell Soyuncu.

Always respect that you give such fulsome opinions on everything. Makes reading your Comments enjoyable. Totally agree re Saints - you have to have a seamless conveyor belt of talent coming into the squad/team and progressing. Unless you are loaded, which we aren’t. And we have that all across the squad in Thomas, JJ, Fofana, Barnes. But Cags may not get better. Players don’t always follow a straight-line progression. Look at Gray. Look at Nacho. If we have to lose one ‘starter’ from the team

tomfund our transfer window, Cags would be my call.  And, for the next two seasons, and at probably half the price, I think Tarks would be as good a replacement, to hit the ground running, as we could possibly hope for.

I think you guys in the UK should know that there are alot of people in Turkey who watch the Leicester games just to see their favourite son, also lots of Turkish supporters worldwide who are crazy about Caglar. If we lose him alot of Turks will stop watching Leicester which may have a negative impact on our growth for overseas fans. This doesn't happen when we sell English players like Maguire, Chilwell or Drinkwater, where overseas fans aren't interested in them. Another example is Salah where all Egypt tunes in to watch him play for Liverpool which this increases the clubs profile in that region.

I think this is probably true in the past, but I think things are slightly more complicated now. I don’t think the buying   Fully Forbes W/class players is sustainable (PSG a possible exception). I

Don't care. Right price and he's gone just like other players. I trust us to get as good as/better defender in.

"Negative impact on our growth of overseas fans" sounds like something the top 6 European wannabees would say.

I would suggest the overseas fan footprint is far smaller in Turkey than in Asian countries, partly relating to our owners, so therefore the impact is less keenly felt.

It's all opinions, Soyuncu has been in team of the season in the Bundesliga and the Premier League already and he's won the FA Cup and is his national teams best defender amongst some fairly strong players. He is being linked with the very best teams in Europe.

Tarkowski has never hit those heights. People like to look at him like a younger Jonny Evans, a player who won multiple trophies at Man Utd and although was underrated there is a huge difference between a player like Evans stature in the game and then a player approaching his late twenties who has played for Brentford and Burnley and although is a good player at this level, it's players of a higher standard than he that is the reason we have gotten to where we have got to and those who would measure themselves as similar to us as a club and yet can't get near us.

I'd have him as 3rs or 4th choice but as a replacement for Soyuncu or Fofana? Get out of town.

Caglar is a Superstar in his own country, which hasn't produced a major world  football star before so you do get a majority of Turkish people follow him this watch the Leicester games. Whereas French players in the Leicester team aren't really followed as much with the French fans because there are lots of good French players players all around Europe.

Thats why I said Asian where the number of Asian professional footballers is quite small (At least in the PL) so the following is keen.

Comparing Turkey with France is a little of a strange comparison tbh, well too me anyway!

The country is not shutting down to watch Leicester take on Burnley. Your comments are totally exaggerating the influence of that market.

Hakan Sukur, Recber Rustu, Arda Turan and Emre will not agree with that.
