I’d be very disappointed to see him go. I think there is something behind this but not as advanced or interesting as the Twitter lot are making it sound. They have an interest. Madders reps may have been contacted and it’s likely that they responded with yeah, we’ll listen. That’s normal. No player agent is going to say nope straight up. The club could sell and he has future contract negotiations.

I just don’t see it as a move Maddison would just jump at. It’s not a major manager in charge. Things could change and there is a CL to compete in. Apart from being a traditional big club, I don’t care what arsenal and their fans think (or any other pundit) LCFC are currently far ahead of arsenal as a project

Maybe he’s sick of being made a scapegoat and the unnecessary stick he gets from his own fans. Iheanacho talked about the impact the negativity of the fans had in him so it doesn’t go unnoticed. I could understand if maddison wanted to move on and try and find somewhere where he is loved and appreciated by the supporters.

Arsenal would probably be one of the worst clubs to join if that is the kind of supporters he wants to play for

They hound out their managers and players get treated far worse than they do at Leicester if they do something wrong

What, you don't think the Arsenal fans would give him stick if he wasn't focusing on the job that he's getting paid handsomely for?

Fans will always love you, if they get the impression that you're giving it everything.

Not sure all of our fans feel that he's totally giving 100% on and off the pitch for us.

I could be wrong though

I agree a lot of our fanbase have given him stick he didn't deserve, but if he wants love free of criticism, utd or the arse aren't the places to go

...not heard Madders getting booed when he walks on to the pitch!!!

Nacho's negative abuse can not be compared to the negativity posted on Foxestalk, as well as no doubt, other media outlets in regards to Madders.

What ever Madders is going through is nowhere near the stick previously meted out to Nacho.

I’m getting it from all angles here 😂 My point is that I could see how some players may want to leave if they have had the criticism from fans that Maddison has had. Some players like to feel loved. No idea whether this is relevant to maddison. In regards to Arsenal not being a good move if that’s the case, I agree. Some players are badly advised though and would have egos that would make them believe that they would be different. Again might not be relevant to maddison, just speculation.

I'm a typical LCFC footy fan and I've been a season ticket holder for 25 years.

From where I'm standing I'm in a typical office based job who breathes and lives football, pranks and banter too. Basically my club is my life.

I invest thousands of my money 💰 to my club and I get to talk about them on this forum as well. Freedom of speech must persist amd everyone has a right to say what they want (unless it's racist or homophobic etc).

I have not doubt whatsoever that the players that come in are discouraged from social media, particularly reading replies etc as opposed to not to.

I've seen the high and lows of madders, twice getting into trouble and dropped from games. Far more for him no doubt was his reputation to Southgate.

Taking all of this into account then it's time to cut the cr*p about "people said that about nacho and this about madders and this to this player". Footballers know that this is part of the game and are made very aware of it when they join clubs especially at our level.

Personally I've lashed out at nacho and madders multiple times, because this is a forum. It's nothing less than being in the stands when madders skews a freekick out of the KP and fans curse the wan*er. 10 mins later he scores and all is good.

Yes, madders doesn't struggle with his confidence, which I think may be his issue. He has proven he's an amazing talent, but he needs to prove consistency, he's in the best place, I hope he realises it and gets his head down, that's if Rodgers wants him in the squad of course

Yes it’s all hypotheticals. I’d love him to stay. I think he’s an amazingly talented player who we would struggle to replace. I was just trying to think of a reason as to why he may be pushing for a move as one article suggests. It’s the only thing I can really think of to be honest as it’s a sideways move at best (I’m being very generous to Arsenal with that description)

If there was a big bust up between himself and Rodgers, he may feel the bridges are burned and wants away, he may also be looking at Chilwell aswell, he seemed to be very pro Leicester before this, calling us a big club and all that but maybe something has changes.

I’m sorry but chilwell to chelsea and Maddison to arsenal aren’t comparable I don’t think. Us and arsenal are rivals, have the same ceiling and fighting for similar positions. We’d be strengthening a direct rival, who finished below  us.

When we sold Harry and Ben, you could argue that we used those fees to strengthen the side overall.

A big fee for Madders could have the same effect.

I don't really want him gone but I don't think he's irreplaceable

Hmm, I guess. But our track record for attackers is shocking I’d say lol

I don't want him away or suggest we should sell to Arsenal, I'm responding to peach speculating why he might want away now. Chilwell has become the centre of attention since he's left, madders might think he can get some of that at another club

Very hard to get the right attackers for most clubs.

Chelsea have spent a fortune over the years on strikers that looked very good, bombed terribly.

It's just now, they can spend and spend again until they get it right.

Is De Paul going for £30m? I know he looks absolutely class. Would be a steal.

de Paul would probably be more like £35-40 million if we're getting perfectly realistic.

The Arsenal Mania thread is nearing 50 pages, so some of theirs are taking this seriously.

They’ve got us well sussed, btw.

We haven’t had fans for 18 months, but I’ve barely seen him anything less than idolised at the KP.

Arsenal chief Edu should pursue cut-price James Maddison transfer by using £30m sweetener

So the gist is that they could save cash by giving us willock for £30m as part of the deal.

Willock needs first team football, and he won't get it at mighty arsenal but he'll get into top 5 sides strongest position. 😀😀😀😀😀😀

I thought I was reading an arsenal fan site for those levels of delusion. Yeah, we're obviously struggling in midfield and soumare must be one for the development squad. 🤔🤔🤔🧐🤨🤨🧐🧐🙄🙄🙄🤫🤫🤫🤫

If Maddison would want to join a mid table club in Arsenal then let him go.

Yep  - no mid-week football means plenty of rest.

Clearly the reporter misspelled Saka/Smith-Rowe.

Crazy to let him go, only creative spark we have in the team beyond Tielemans.   Got 7 assists last year for a player injured or unfit for half the season that ain't half bad.

I just read the article and couldn’t believe what I was reading. So, just to clarify, we are benefiting because we are getting a player we don’t need or want (who couldn’t get anywhere near a team that finished below us), and £30M to help with our recruitment drive? I know we have a proven recruitment strategy, but we ain’t here to help a has been club… jog on Southern Fairy, pay the money or Foxtrot Oscar
