That is down to the shape / formation - it’s all to alien to them. 
 

It’s also why the press has been lacking when Germany have the ball.

It's started similarly to Wales v Denmark.

 

The difference is, the Danish manager made tactical changes and there was no looking back for them.

 

Southgate will basically just pray that we don't concede.

So much space there and Sterling just never got ball under control, slowed it right down and let Germany get back. Got to move it quickly in those situations.
