Spinazzola did his Achilles tendon. Out for months.

Having just had a tendon repaired in my finger, I feel so sorry for him. The rehab will be a killer.

I snapped a tendon in my finger over 25 years ago, the pain when I went back for physio therapy when the doctor took the splint off and bent it forward and backwards. Up there with the worst pains for sure.

Ruptured my Achilles, never snapped it but that was bad enough, tendons are worse than bone breaks for pain and healing time.

As a top level footballer he will be back in six months.

I got my two of my ankles' tendons completely ruptured two years ago and was out for six months. Not even a foul, my own mistake on a turn, thinking that I still could keep up with 20-30 years old club footballers when I was nearing my forties. After that the leftovers of speed and agility I still had went out the window and I never got them back.

It really is a heartbreaker on so many levels, for him and his team. He'll get through, hopefully, but not being able to play the rest of the tournament will haunt him. He's only 28 and will be treated by some of the best sport doctors and I wish him a speedy recovery.

I enjoyed that match and Italy have grown on me a lot but as always tainted by the play acting at the end.

I bet you, like nearly everybody else, wouldn't mind it if City were in the same position. I know I wouldn't.

Game management.

Clever stuff.

Hope Italy win it.

Theyve been class all throughout.

Rolling around on the floor. I don’t consider that game management. I consider it a pathetic mixture of lying and cheating. Pity since I enjoyed watching them before that. And they deserved the win overall. I hope England prove we’re worthy winners in the next two matches. If we get to the final, I’d like to be able to say we’re playing good football. Currently we’re as likable as Burnley.

Noticed that at the time, half laughing half annoyed. Spain and the possible finalists will have to face the acting from Italy as well as the quality of their football.

Everyone laughing off the cheating are part of the problem. Needs to be highlighted, but it's always alongside a joke or similar. Players dont care how embarrassing it looks. The Immobile incident had nothing to do with timewasting but it's time the clock is stopped for injuries and substitutions, especially when 5 are allowed. Are there still rules about only making subs on 3 separate occasions? Haven't noticed during this tournament. When a game goes to extra time it feels like there are subs every couple of minutes.

I think Belgium's golden generation is a bit of a myth. Take De Bruyne and Lukaku out of that side and it looks very ordinary. Can two players constitute a generation?

Generally agree, although you'd add a fit Hazard to that too. I think they are a bit of a fancier version of England.

For a country the size of Belgium though I think you have to class as a big era for them and they've underachieved a bit. Draw not been helpful for them this time, bit unlucky at the world cup and 2016 was a wasted opportunity.

Agreed. Hazard is a good player also (not "great" for me though). Their defence isn't great and overall they haven't got a good manager.3

It's probably because their country isn't massive so the chance of them having multiple good players in one side again is low.

Oh, and I usually like watching good players for as long as possible, in these competitions, but De Brunye is a moaning bastard so I'm not bothered he's gone out.

Always funny when English pundits try to get high and mighty over a perceived lack of integrity in other sides (almost always Southern European or Latin American). They must be blind to the state of the PL and their own national team.

2018 highlighted the hypocrisy perfectly. After lambasting Panama for trying to kick off before the whistle had gone, England went on to try this lol

It does happen everywhere but the Italian antics have been by far the worst compared to any other team in the tournament.
