Leicester City can confirm that winger Rachid Ghezzal has signed a permanent deal with Turkish Süper Lig side Besiktas, subject to international clearance.

- Rachid Ghezzal puts pen to paper on a deal with Besiktas
- The 29-year-old joined LCFC in August 2018 and made 23 appearances
- He spent the 2020/21 campaign on loan with the Turkish club

The 29-year-old – who joined the Foxes from Monaco in the summer of 2018 – has teamed up with the Istanbul based club for an undisclosed fee.

His City debut came against Manchester United at Old Trafford in August 2018, before going on to play a further 22 times for the Club.

He had loan spells at Fiorentina and Besiktas while at King Power Stadium, and he now leaves Leicester City with the best wishes of everyone at the Football Club.

Had a good game v Liverpool (2-3 loss) but in terms of goals and assists he was as inefficient as Gray, Under, and dare I say Albrighton *ducks*

Sounds like a great pro and he certainly looked like he put the effort in pre-season whilst all this was being dragged out.

Hope he has another great season over there.

Happy with our replacement Madueke too..

Arrived in unfavourable circumstances, had ability on the ball and worked hard but was just too slow. Not a blunder like Silva or Slimani were. Good luck to him.

I doubt they paid much for him but its good to get him off the wage bill and not have to worry about him being one of the 25 in the squad. Wish him all the best it just didn't really work out for him

Whatever Lukaka or Grealish currently have in their wallets.

His time at leicester didn't go how he or us would have liked but he Deserves credit for his last season in Turkey, 8 goals and 18 assists (the most in the league) helping his side to a league and Cup double.

Those performances have enabled us to get a modest transfer fee and get him of the wage bill for his final year freeing up around 5 million quid to invest else where.

I might be wrong, but I think he cost about £12m. Think he's been sold for £2m-£3m. Not sure.

Prem wasn’t for him, as others have said seems a nice fella, professional about his situation and never caused a fuss, just wasn’t good enough whenever he played really, all the best

Goodbye sweet Poundland Mahrez.

Touch of the Knockaerts about him in that he was a decent technician just lacked the pace to play on the wing in the Prem. He didn’t set the buy or sell price and like others have said didn’t appear to be a bad apple.

Good luck to him.
