He’d have probably scored more over the years if he just focused on running in behind. But instead our managers contributed to his demise by asking him to become a possession merchant and drop deep to link the play. You have to play to a players strengths and I don’t think any of our managers ever did that with Patson. Now he’s a busted flush, but still our best option at the moment. Leave the link up play to the number 10 and let Patson occupy the last defender and lead the press. notice also he's playing in a two. We signed a 23m striker and actively played against his strengths at every single turn, both in terms of playstyle and formation. Cracking work on the recruitment there. 2

Adapting tactics/formations to the players you have available used to be pretty much the norm for management. Seems now to be a dying art.
Popular Post Will1981 Posted 22 November 2025 Popular Post Posted 22 November 2025 Led the line well today despite being constantly fouled, took his goal really well and his run in behind created the space for Mavididi to score. 11
Hales Posted 22 November 2025 Posted 22 November 2025 So pleased for him and he works his socks off, he doesnt stop running! Well done Pat 💙 3
Sol thewall Bamba Posted 22 November 2025 Posted 22 November 2025 Scuffed finish but who cares. Hopefully he can put himself in the shop window a bit in the next 6 months so he gets a slightly better move. 1 1
Trev3939 Posted 22 November 2025 Posted 22 November 2025 That’ll do a world of good for his confidence
Mark 'expert' Lawrenson Posted 22 November 2025 Posted 22 November 2025 Needs to start every game as he’s the best option we have. Pleased for him today. 4
Mike Oxlong Posted 22 November 2025 Posted 22 November 2025 I'll take it if he can start scoring half as much as he takes a dive Pleased for him today though as he generally works his arse off

fox_favourite Posted 22 November 2025 Posted 22 November 2025 And fair play, it was a great finish. 3 1
dmayne7 Posted 22 November 2025 Posted 22 November 2025 Unlikely that the goal puts him on a big goalscoring run but have got to say that his all-round game looks way better this season. Lots of decent link up/hold up play 2
Blueman1967 Posted 22 November 2025 Posted 22 November 2025 Hopefully he kicks on from this, can't fault his work, and effort 2
Stuntman_Mike Posted 22 November 2025 Posted 22 November 2025 I look forward to seeing him score again at the end of 2026. I can't work out of if he is constantly fouled, or if he is just second best in every tussle. It's a strange watch.
East Langton Fox Posted 22 November 2025 Posted 22 November 2025 I'm pleased for him. Always gives 100%. Not his fault we paid stipid money for him. 3

Could do with selling it a bit better when he goes down. Bizarre considering every single bit of contact seems to be a foul in this league he doesn’t get anywhere near enough go his way. 1 1
The Year Of The Fox Posted 22 November 2025 Posted 22 November 2025 Just searched twitter for Dakas goals Didn’t take long to find 1
BigC Posted 22 November 2025 Posted 22 November 2025 has pace and works hard, just have to get behind him unfortunately. can complain but Carranza offers zilch. Ayew has his pros but too slow. 1

Mike Oxlong Posted 22 November 2025 Posted 22 November 2025 I wonder what the world will be like when Patson next scores. Aerial cars the norm and we will have colonised Mars is my guess
Jabfox Posted 22 November 2025 Posted 22 November 2025 So happy for him, hard to dislike a player who constantly works his arse off imo 1
