Popular Post Pliskin Posted 28 August 2021 Popular Post Posted 28 August 2021 When Rodgers says “we don’t have a bottomless pit of money” he means if, but I think he is constantly comparing us to the Rich 4, he’s comparing us to the teams we see as our competition. So Man City could comfortably bid £100m for Lewondowski on Tuesday, but we clearly can’t. Klopp is forever moaning about how much money Chelsea and Coty spend…. But are Liverpool emptying piggy banks on deadline day? No. We will have £30m spare if the right player comes available, we’re not skint, there is no way we would have had loans for a training ground and stadium expansions approved if the finances were as tight as some make out on this forum. The players were looking at, the price won’t be a major issue. The club aren’t down to their last £5…. If they want Neres, they will get him, if they want James they will get him. Players will have to be moved out to allow for space in the squad, as there are limited numbers in that respect. As a fan you don’t need to panic about finances, the club employ professionals to do that. 8

We cannot register another player without excluding 2 of Praet, Mendy and Choudhury. Don't forget our wages to revenue turnover is atrocious and although we probably have the ability to structure a new signing of significance its very difficult to keep stretching the wage budget, especially when there's folk on here telling us Praet is on 90k a week and Choudhury 60k. We are desperately trying to get them off the books. This 100%. The money paid for players isn’t the issue, it’s the wages and other financial aspects once the deal is done that cause the issues, like you say, hence why we want to get a few out of the club, and free up the space on in the squad. 1

If we are left over with any other players that won't be in the first team then the harsh reality is to offload them onto the U23's until new year or next summer.
TJB-fox Posted 28 August 2021 Posted 28 August 2021 Praet on 90k and Hamza 60k are those figures accurate? Genuine Q. Seem awfully high 1

Praet is a Belgian international and was one of the best CMs in Serie A when we bought him; Hamza was a home-grown youth international for England when he signed that contract.
sdb Posted 29 August 2021 Posted 29 August 2021 No way is Hamza on 60k. That's suicidal from the club, if true (which I doubt).
Lineker's Left Foot Posted 29 August 2021 Posted 29 August 2021 👀 at 12.30 when Ajax team sheet is released... hopefully he is nowhere to be seen 🙏👀 2

Seem awfully high I wouldn’t believe it for a minute TBH, others say it is. But if Rudkin is agreeing that then he needs sacking. Hamza signed his in 2019 when he’d done nothing of note at all. That doesn’t warrant that much, neither did his potential. 6

There are a lot of players in the PL who get paid more than they are really worth. I think the Praet salary at least is pretty accurate. This inflation in salaries is causing major problems in transfer dealings.

coolhandfox Posted 29 August 2021 Posted 29 August 2021 Most people take the wages from things like FM which are at best educated guess. No chance hamza is earning 60k.
NewquayFox Posted 29 August 2021 Posted 29 August 2021 Is Neres any good? Can’t say I’ve heard much about him…

Several articles about how he would make the senior squad in time. His tournament wasn't great due to an ankle breaking tackle and a sending off. Additionally started the first 3 games of the season after a very positive end to the season. Started ahead of several players earning between 50-80k a week. Also signed just at the end of a transfer window which is interesting timing given some rumoured interest. Edited 29 August 2021 by Chocolate Teapot

The People's Hero Posted 29 August 2021 Posted 29 August 2021 Agent also looks after Reinier who huge things are expected of, brought in by Real Madrid and loaned to a German club. Wondered if he was one he were looking at when there were strong rumours of a player incoming (possibly on loan) from Spain. All a bit irrelevant really I suppose.
st albans fox Posted 29 August 2021 Posted 29 August 2021 Can’t see us buying a player within 48 hours who is on the bench today …. Sorry
