So, checks are back on!?

Waste of time if it’s not being made mandatory, I presume like on Saturday they won’t be able to refuse access to anyone.

I’ve got no idea why the PL clubs are carrying on with the checks when they don’t have to

Typical of us to carry  them on even after the government said they won't be bringing them out. They will get a no thanks from me.

Bloke ahead of us Saturday gave one that was out of date and then they didn’t ask me or my dad, complete waste of everyone’s time. And they can’t say no entry anyway 😂😂

Presumably because come winter when Boris invokes Plan B, and they are mandatory they'll have the process practised and efficient...

They won’t be practised and efficient though because they are only doing random checks and not refusing anyone entry.

You either do it properly or not at all.

I don't understand the whole out of date thing: It's not like you become unvaxxed after three weeks.

Have they said they won't be refusing entry?

Yes. It says on the LCFC website you will be advised it may be mandatory in the future but you will be allowed in this time.

Did anyone get checked last night?

I was faffing about with getting signed up with the NHS app before setting off last night, but at the gate everyone was walking through as normal.

What is the point. You could literally show them a screenshot of anyone's QR Code, they don't check the name matches your ticket or anything. Utterly pointless exercise. Saw one guy having an argument and refusing to show it.

In the discussion on here there was no mention of covid checks for last night. I checked on the website a few days back - and similarly no covid test mentioned.  when was this announced?

I thought they were not checking - was the hold up because or print at home tickets

the whole thing seems totally pointless. I'd be totally in support of a vaccine passport but here we have sporadic checks, and even when they are carried out there's no actual checking it is "your" passport. And if it is not a legal requirment then why bother?

I was at the O2 Academy in Sheffield on Sunday for a gig - we were asked for our QR codes and everyone was more than happy to show them, and I didn't see anyone refuse to do so but what actually can they do if you did refuse?

It just seems crazy and laughable to me that we could be in a situation where you can enter the stadium with COVID (unknown to you as a carrier or if you're being selfish and not isolating) as long as you're double jabbed but you can't enter even if you have proof of a negative result.

The whole lateral flow home testing is a shambles anyway because you can scan the QR code, fill out the details and just pick your result anyway without even doing a test.

I honestly don't know what the quick, efficient and sensible solution is to all this is that keeps everyone as safe as possible without excluding anybody.

It was all over the radio and socials yesterday afternoon that supporters were asked to arrive early for spot checks at the turnstiles. Seems like they must have given up 20 minutes before KO.
