Quite simple for me, right now our EL campaign is in jeopardy and yet its still more conceivable that we put together enough to get out of the group and then navigate the knockouts in the hope of winning it and qualifying for the CL than getting top 4 this season via the PL.

Therefore, where possible I'd be going strong in the EL games in positions where we rely so heavily on certain players (Evans, Tielemans, Iheanacho)

I would have agreed with you 100% a few weeks ago. But having seen how good we can be on Saturday and seeing how crap United are I believe we can get top 4 this season. We’ve been there for 95% of the last two seasons - we’re a very good side. We’ve just had a slow start.

Go for the league always!

Loving the post win vibe, but I don't think there is a cat in hell's chance we finish top 4.

Everton, Spurs and West Ham are all waiting to usurp Man Utd this season.

We've got a battle on to finish above eighth. I think we can topple West Ham, assuming they get more than just Antonio injured as they've nothing beyond a decent 13.

We need a cup for European football I think. I'd defo settle for a steady 7th this season and swimming in the conference league next year

.....top 4 is not a pipe dream......you see what we can do, we needed to get back to what we are good at, there is still a lot of inconsistency within this league!!!

You realise we finished above Everton, Westham and Spurs in both of the last two seasons, right? We also won the FA Cup last season, and the charity shield this. Those things don’t happen if you’re an average side. Any team can go on a bad run but only really good sides have as much success as we have had over the last 24 months or so. We’re a very good football team when we get it right. Have some faith.

True.....all an opinion thing. But the others have improved. Everton have improved - the manager has gone for a tried and tested format and it's going well. West Ham haven't the handicap of their usual poor start. Spurs were dreadful last season, had a boy manager for 15 games or so and STILL finished 7th.

Our start has been wrecked by injuries. But I expect, as you do, that to level out and enjoy a better end to the season this time around

Strongest possible XI here, the 3-5-2 needs to stay in place with the players we have.
Not sure what that means for Barnes, as I can’t see where he fits into a 3-5-2.

The only change I think we’ll see is Daka in for Vardy. I think Vards will play every game in the PL and will only play in the EL when absolutely necessary.

A 3-1 win coming up Daka, Madders and Iheanacho on the score sheet.

Kasper

Amartey

Evans

Soyuncu

Ricardo

Castagne

Soumare

Tielemans

Madders

Daka

Iheanacho

To be fair Everton, Spurs and West Ham have all had decent starts to the PL season, we have had a shocking start and we are only 3 points behind all of them.
We are only 8 games in, but we are right in the race for top 4.

This season Man City, Liverpool and Chelsea look a cut above they will I would imagine finish in the top 3 spots.

4th though is one of 5 or teams who have nothing between them. I can’t see any reason why if we don’t have to many injuries and get some consistent form, I would argue we have the 5th best squad in the league (we spanked the side with the 4th best squad on the weekend).

Man Utd, Spurs, Everton, Leicester and West Ham could all think they have a chance of 4th with a run of form.

Tbh, I'm still amazed that we are contemporaries of West Ham.and Everton.. i met a West ham.fan on Sunday and find it quite weird that they - enjoying their strongest team in perhaps 20 odd years, if not 40 - look at us as a rival.

Happy days

Given this is basically a must win and that our objective is to make it to the RO 16, I'd say to definitely go with our strongest line up possible. Hypothetically, I'd rather sacrifice a few points at Brentford than sacrifice the entirety of our EL competition.

It's a must-win and you're not playing Kelechi or Vardy?

This is massive.

Personally I'd go as full strength as possible and prioritise it over Sunday.

I hope the few City fans making the trip have a great experience out there :scarf:

Go full strength and look to finish them off early.

If we’re a few goals clear with an hour to go take off a couple of key players and ride it out.

We need to be professional tonight, Spartak are all over the place as a club, so we need to take advantage, finish them off early, and then move on.

That’s a strong enough side to get the result.

We thought that in Warsaw.

Let's be honest. We played shit out there but we had more than enough chances chances win that game.
