3 clean sheets in that time, 2 of which against sides that got relegated last season.

Just checked that and fvck me that's worse than what I thought.

1 clean sheet in 10 this season.

2 clean sheets in the last 10 of last season.

3 clean sheets in 20 league games although I never do like including part of the previous season.

Clean sheets are obviously ideal but I think the bigger problem is we can’t even restrict teams to just the one goal. We’ve conceded 2 or more 9 times this season ffs

Yep and we also seem to let teams have so many shots against us.

I saw the stat the other day of most shots conceded and we were up near the top.

We lost at home to Arsenal (sound familiar?) on February 28th. Since then, including that game, we have played 23 league games. Our record is:-

Won 9, Drew 4, Lost 10, Points 31. 6 of those defeats have been at home.

That is bottom half of the table form & indicates, because of the time span, that this is more than just a temporary blip. I know that we have had injuries but so does every club.

A little bit worrying I would suggest, especially as we are told that we consistently want to be challenging for top 4 & Europe not looking over our shoulders at the bottom 3

How about all competitions?

I’d say some Leicester City fans have moved further ahead than the club’s actual expectations, which is fine, but I still say we’re meeting every expectation the manager tells us and more.

It is quite concerning the defensive issues don't seem to have improved or at least stabilised.

Change in personnel regularly doesn't help - the loss of actual talent (i.e. Fofana) hasn't helped. Evans' injury woes added to that as well. Confidence being hit generally.

Got hope we'll see it recover and improve, but not sure when...

I think a lot of fans think we are better than we are. Overachieving for two seasons, challenging the Top 4 does not mean we are a Top 4 team. Far from it. We are a mid table team. Our expectation is to challenge the Top 7 places most seasons but realise that there are other teams just as good as us doing the same.

I don' expect us to qualify for Europe often, we have been spoilt in last 5/6 years.

It amazing how after a loss, these sorts of posts appear: doubting the manager, the players, the tea lady…well you get what I mean.

We played an Arsenal side that had confidence, we’re tactically spot on to play against a team like us and had a goal keeper on form. It was a poor 20mins and against a team on the up, you can’t give two goals away like that. I thought Rodgers made the right change at half time and we were better. Also saw comments about too many sideways passes. That is due to the way Arsenal set up and made it hard to created the space. Pulling teams left and right can open the gaps. What would have people said if the just passed forward too quickly and lose the ball, people would complain about that too!

Yes, our form has been patchy, but in that patchy period we’ve won the FA cup and the charity Shield and finished 5th. This season is tough as other teams have really stepped it up. We do need to look at our defence at set plays, but no need for doom and gloom.

If you concede 2 goals per game you're going to end up probably losing or drawing more than you win. We must tighten up at the back or this season is going to be a struggle.

We're often overrun in midfield too, something we don't seem able to address with the players we have at titmes.

None, because managers never sign players.

Yes they do. You really think managers have zero input?

I think the DOF role v manager position is misunderstood.

Said it before but I read the 442 interview with Pearson who said he used to go and watch players with Walsh. Initial scouting was done but to see if the player was any good Pearson went to watch him.

How about if we're picking random moments in time we pick our record since Rodgers has been in charge?

But that’s my point, it’s team effort. If a bad signing is made, it’s not just on the manager.

Whats also concerning is that a fair few of those points have been won purely down to Youri and/or Kel providing some magic out of nowhere.

We shouldn't be classing threat of relegation as the tipping point anymore, we've moved past that. If this squad is looking at a mid table finish, which based on basically the whole of 2021 is what we will see, then that isn't good enough.

This isn't being entitled, this is just using common sense and knowing that our squad is better than that.

You can analyse that with all teams. Liverpool win games with a bit of Salah magic. Man City have got through matches with a bit of De Bruyne magic. Palace have Zaha, West Ham got a huge piggyback from Jesse Lingard last season.

But as I've said in another thread, we'd have maybe accepted this season in the last couple of seasons with a more threadbare, younger squad. The loss of form is more worrying when we bagged just about all our summer targets, kept hold of all the stars and were supposedly building on our cup win and 2 fifth place finishes.

Sorry but I'm constantly told we've got the best owners, "World class" training ground, a great manager, "the best squad we've ever had"... Why should I not expect?

Because football is played on grass not paper. Great manager & best squad we've ever had doesn't mean it's better than everyone else's squads or is entitled to finish in the top 6. Spurs are 8th, 2 points off 4th spot and yet booed their team & manager off the pitch yesterday for losing to United. There are about 6 or 7 teams all of a similar stature to us, all wanting to nick that fourth spot. There needs to be some acceptance that we're going to have spells and even seasons where we don't make the grade otherwise we'll just keep recycling managers without seeing any particular improvement.

As someone once said "It's possible to make no mistakes and still lose. That is not a fault, it's just life"
