Possibly? He was close to all the players it seemed - senior and the youngsters. Maybe he could keep things in check and maybe wasn't as emotional as Kasper for example?

I think the fact Brendan had a meeting with the leadership group shows the players felt his head had been turned.  It may be coincidence but it shows on the pitch. Hopefully it reassured them. I guess we will see on Thursday! I am surprised he didn't speak to the whole squad and just the select few. Maybe they are the most upset at the moment or maybe tensions are high and he didn't want to take on the whole team!

I hope it has cleared the air and it was a genuine and honest conversation as things need to change and fast!

Problem is that the alleged conversation took place before the Chelsea game, so didn't really make a difference did it?

Oh really! Well doesn't seem it made much difference then 😕  Kasper has a face like thunder on the tunnel cam.  Very unhappy camp at the moment......

No win in 7.

Or... 1 defeat in 7.

(Not debating you just want to put the fixtures and results out):

Brightons last 7...

Palace A - draw

Arsenal H - draw

Norwich A - draw

Man City H - defeat

Liverpool A - draw

Newcastle H - draw

Palace A - draw

Our last 7...

Burnley H - draw

Palace A - draw

Man Utd H - win

Brentford A -win

Arsenal H - defeat

Leeds A - draw

Chelsea H - defeat

You not counting the loss to Villa at the weekend?

They haven't play Palace twice in 7 games....

So 7 games, 5 draws 2 loses, 5 points

Vs

7 games, 2 wins, 3 draws and 2 loses, 9pts.

We have been bang average but I will take the latter.

Its weird to call a meeting with a couple of players to state it. Why not just tell everyone at Mondays session?

The weird corporate style of management is so so odd. Probably one of the reasons I cant warm to him. He seems like some executive robot that was accidentally dropped into the wrong career.

...he is very much under pressure, he cannot handle it!!!

He is making statements contrary to his previous actions at the club. Calling out the supporters for Booing, for making his players anxious, stating that we have over-achieved under him (in effect saying look what I have done, you are lucky to have me).

Calling a meeting of the "leadership group" before a game suggest panic as things were appearing to come to a head. He wanted them to bail him out, put up a fight and take the pressure off him, it did not work, we were worse.

If United wanted him, and he is wary of leaving mid season, then once again he is making a poor call, as it is a club that any manager would decide to answer the call, if an approach was made.

No one would blame him, it is after all Manchester United. He makes poor decisions and our failings have stemmed from his muddled thinking.

They truly don’t.

...worse case scenario, relegation, sacking him and paying to extract a chosen Manager who is currently employed!!!

The other option is him going to United we getting a payment to meet the "clause" and we using the fund to bring in a new manager. The statement that he could do more damage by staying is for me absolutely true.

Brighton typify flattering to deceive or show that the game really is about fine margins and ultimately playing quite attractive football and yet still somehow winning less games than they draw or lose, its a 1 way ticket to challenging at the bottom end of the table, rather than the top.

There is simple way to stop the booing... set up to compete

I think they are just reverting to type.

They struggle to win games.

If  the Man.Utd. directors read this thread and believe it , they will  not touch him with a bargepole. We cannot wish him away and I really think this is the best gig he will ever get. He is one of the highest paid managers in football after all.

Seems like Poch is favorite to take over at Man U, he's unhappy at PSG. Looks like we are stuck with Brendan

Let's start pumping the Brendan to PSG rumour mill.

Ok, chill out!

It was an observation of someone's facial expression. Not stating that's right or wrong 🤷‍♀️ he said something they clearly cut out.

We are all allowed an opinion on an observation!
