Really need to crack on with this.

It’s what is stopping us from being seen as a bigger club. We’ve had success on the pitch so this needs to go with it.

We need it. The stadium needs freshening up. Some aspects of it still look very league one.

Will be an amazing stadium when finished can’t wait for them to get started with it, my only thought is are they waiting to see what league we’ll be in next season before they start with the Expansion even tho we’re going straight back up so pull your Fooking Fingers out Leicester!!:innocent:

"bigger club"?!! Taking the capacity up to 40K odd will hardly do that.

This should have been done immediately after our 2016 success.

The new build will bring in extra money not just seats.

Arena, hotel etc

Not that alone but really it’s a requirement now. 40k is needed.

Everyone is kicking on in improving their stadiums. Man City, Liverpool, Spurs, West Ham, Everton, Villa etc…

Can’t stand still in a stadium that hasn’t been improved in 20 years. It’s not just the seats - it’s the extra facilities and feel of the stadium. The expansion upgrades more than just one stand.

I totally agree here. It represents a golden opportunity to reinvigorate everything about the stadium from catering facilities to toilets and the concourses. The arena and hotel will be massive as well. It feels a bit tired and stale as things stand.

Pretty sure with no pandemic this would have been completed already.

Stress on the owner finance has made things difficult.

King Power are as solvent as ever. Turned in massive profits last year, business back track.

When the club talked about these plans a few months ago, what I understood from what they were staying is that the project was halted once there was danger of us going down and they are waiting until we go back up before starting construction

Update from the fans committee meeting, Link also attached to all notes

Stadium Development: • S106 terms will soon be agreed and ratified by the Club and council. Once the S106 is signed, the Club will have outline planning permission approved to commence with the project within a five year timeframe. • The Club is still committed to the development, but timing will be crucial. Additional land (EON) was acquired post planning application, which now needs to be integrated in the plan. Divisional status is not an exclusive consideration, but Premier League status is evidently healthier for the business model. • Member raised a question that should the Club gain promotion to the PL and building works start, but then suffer another relegation, what would happen to the progression of the development? The Club confirmed that the commencement of development work would be underpinned by a business plan that would take risk factors into consideration, making it unlikely that development would be affected by circumstances changing mid-project. • Members asked if an update on development status could be shared on the Club’s communication channels – even if this is minimal. AH to look into. • Member raised the question on the use of the proposed Arena – the Club can only confirm an Arena is part of the current masterplan but do not have any further detail to share at this moment. • DSA Member raised the issue of being told that any alterations to the current stadium are being put back until the stadium development – the Club confirmed that it would continue to ensure compliance with all accessibility regulations in the meantime.

Yet, they would have had even more morning without the pandemic.
