Sources: Leicester City keen on Wolves star Hwang as January price tag revealed
Leicester City have set their sights on Wolves loan sensation Hwang Hee-chan ahead of January, Football Insider can exclusively reveal.

The Midlands outfit are cash-strapped and need to sell one of their prize assets to raise the funds to convert the forward’s loan from RB Leipzig into a permanent deal.

A Leicester source has told Football Insider that Hwang has caught the eye of their talent spotters and they are monitoring his situation going into the winter window.

Wolves have the option to buy Hwang, 25, for around £13million next summer as part of the deal that took to Molineux in late August.

But that would not stop Leipzig accepting a bid beyond that mark in the mid-season window.

Leicester and the forward’s other suitors could persuade Leipzig to sell if they offer around the £18m mark.

Brendan Rodgers’ side are in the market for attacking reinforcements, with Jamie Vardy turning 35 in January and out of contract in the summer of 2023.

He tops the Foxes’ scoring charts once again this season with nine goals in all competitions, while recent arrival Patson Daka has six and Kelechi Iheanacho, James Maddison, Harvey Barnes, Youri Tielemans and Ademola Lookman have three apiece.

Hwang has caught the eye of rival clubs this season on the back of some dynamic displays for Wolves.

Hwang, who mainly plays on the left side of the attack, has scored four goals from 10 Premier League matches this season.

The forward, who is contracted at Leipzig until 2025, has scored six goals in 37 games for South Korea and was part of their 2018 World Cup squad.

Hmm, Confused by....

Brendan Rodgers’ side are in the market for attacking reinforcements - Are we?

If we’re looking to replace Vardy and keep three forwards then fair enough, but it looks like Vardy will play another season albeit with plenty of rest, and I doubt we’re looking for four forwards. I thought Wolves were selling Traore anyway for enough cash to buy this guy and more. Sounds like bullshit to me.

Hwang did play a bit with Daka, but he was mainly Haalands strike partner and Daka was a bit part player.

I do think we might sell Iheanacho this summer though....

I don't understand why we weren't we keen on him in the summer. We've got about 20 defenders and barely anybody who can play in the 3 positions behind the striker

I have been harping on about singing this guy for a few years now. He used to play somewhat in the Harvey Barnes role but can play anywhere across the front three.

he’d fit us like a glove.

I've only caught a few glimpses of Wolves this year but he's played on the left and looked OK.

This article is probably bullshit either straight up made up as clickbait or being pushed by his agent / RBL to hurry Wolves up though.

Barnes, Hwang and Lookman could be really good options for the wide positions.

But it seems all three prefer operating on the left. Lookman has deputised admirably on the right but could Hwang do the same?

As long as there isn't too much of a drop in performance when playing from the right, then I'd be all for it.

Yeah, he is obviously not in Brendan's favor. Owners probably wouldn't mind doing more brand building in Asia, either. But it is also Football Insider, so worth the paper it's written on.

....it is confusing, as it states they are willing to sell him in order to have the finance to buy him from Leipzig!!!

I have read it over and over and it still makes no sense. The only way it would make sense is if Wolves had another player that we (Leicester) were interested in, and Wolves were willing to sell in order to finance the purchase of Hwang.

This is either poor journalism or a ill-conceived concocted story.

Because we struggle to find a system that we can fit Kelechi in that also suits the rest of the side.

With Vardy spending less and less time playing I hope we'd find something.

Both, but where would we be without all this clickbait nonsense.

Because I don't think he fits in here annoyingly. His stock has risen considerably and we got him to sign a new contract but I think his slow return back to being a bit part player is going to beg the question for player and club that it's time to cash in.
