Again people criticising Lookman should also be sharing Barnes and Vardy, Lookman has done more than both of them put together. Soumare has a better game too but being slated.

The pressing has been awful again, way too easy for them to attack us.

Soyuncu for their second is unforgivable, looked like an amateur.

Southampton 9 shots 6 on target, just too easy for them. And this is a team that struggle for goals themselves

Before tonight they had scored 11 goals in 13 games, now 2 in 45 minutes against us.

Worst part about the whole thing is my mum repeatedly called just before Southampton's second and wouldn't get off the fuching phone. I thought it was something serious but it was to waffle.

Give her my number. I'd rather listen to your Mum than watch another 45 like that.

We just aren’t a team. Don’t work for each other. Don’t work off the ball. Leave players in the shit with possession.

Those two set pieces are nothing about marking and all about desire.

Maybe harsh, but both goals Kasper could have done better IMO.

As a unit we are poor.all the players seem so isolated on the ball and off the ball. It’s terrible it’s so easy for teams to get at us.

This really is terrible stuff. I cannot believe how bad we are at defending, it’s basic stuff at this point. That second goal was pathetic, letting Adams get in between the defenders like that was ridiculous - track your man. How hard is it? These are established Premier League players.

I don’t even want to talk about Barnes and Lookman either. We look so slow and lethargic going forward, that goal came out of nowhere and we really didn’t build on it. The only consolidation is that we aren’t four or five down.

Can we get Ricky Tomlinson in for a half time team talk? Sit Brendan down in the dressing room too.

Calm down, calm down

Our midfield get carved open time and again this season, Soumare and Ndidi can’t play together, if that 1st half doesn’t show Brendan that then I don’t know what will, my 9 year old daughter has had better showings on the wing this season for her team then Lookman in that 1st half, it’s actually painful watching us trying to defend, and in all honesty I have no idea how it’s going to improve, the only saving grace I have is that we still have Justin and Fofana to come back, and it goes against the whole “don’t rush them back” statement but as soon as they show any signs of match fitness put them back in the back line sharpish

Welcome to zonal marking.

The only teams that have ever made it work have had mentally and physically tenacious players, but when you have our lily-livered lot you just get a lot of lads pointing at each other.

The bystander effect is psychology 101 but for some reason it has passed Rodgers by even when played out repeatedly in front of his eyes.

It’s got nothing to do with zonal marking on the second phase. All about bollocks and desire. Lookman poor clearance. Only Evans spots the wider player and then there’s no pressure on the ball. Then Castagne and Cags show zero desire to get to that cross

Live in Merseyside and my Everton mates warned me that Lookman was piss poor. Signings over the summer are proving to be appalling.

Everyone knew Lookman was hit-and-miss, but it was a last-gasp signing on the last day after we couldn't get a RW the entire window.
