Has someone told our defence they don’t need to get involved in the giveaway?? 😳

The way we've been defending, it looks like some of them had a few pre match beers

Class as always from our owners.

Hope everyone enjoys and appreciates it and get behind our boys from the 1st whistle, instead of moaning and saying how shit we are.

I watched a fair bit of Derby and West Brom today and Derby stayed in the game, took their chance and battled the game out with the backing of their fans.

As much as I dislike them, Fair play to them.

Unfortunately I think people turn up and enjoy moaning more than backing.

No doubt it’ll attract a few negative posts.

But if Leicester fans get ‘offended’ by these types of chants, then the Scousers certainly shall

It's been taken as if
a)we're mocking poverty itself
b)no-one has ever sung it before

Wouldn't surprise me if Showsec hurl a few out the door for their offensive behaviour. It's just an indication of the absolute saccharine atmosphere at fooitball grounds in general these days.

The thing is though it's painfully unfunny and unoriginal. And what is essentially, 'Hah you people are poor funny', is absolutely a joke built around the idea that poverty and people being poor is funny. And if good humour is meant to be based on fact then it really falls down because we have a bigger child poverty problem than Liverpool.

What is it that's funny about it? Is it just that you find anything negative anyone can come up with about Liverpool funny? Because I'm really struggling with the idea that it's not just a load of sun reading tory morons laughing at their innacurate belief that people in Liverpool are struggling more than us.

Won’t never turn my nose up to free stuff from the club, especially an alcoholic beverage.

Top class as always :appl:

Glad to see the club have realised that alcohol is the only thing making this bunch tolerable to watch.

Or an indication of how wet society is these days

FWIW, I’ve never really sang the song in humour about anyone starving.

It’s more the, ‘let them know it’s Christmas time’ line that I find more humorous. Almost like they live in the dark ages up there, so all they have to tell the date by is a sun dial in a field type thing. It’s the same type of joke made about, say, people from Coalville not yet owning a colour TV.

Or letting them know it’s Christmas time by the fact that we’ll be cheerful (before kick off), and they’ll be unhappy because they’re Scouse. So you’re letting them know it’s a time to lighten up and get into the festive spirit

I completely get why folk can think it’s sung about feeding a starving 5 year old kid and feel that that’s not right nor funny.

But up until this weekend, I’ve never viewed it in that way personally

It still won’t stop me singing it though
