honeybradger Posted 21 June Posted 21 June The same Okonkwu that was ousted from Wrexham's starting XI by Danny Ward? F me.

StanSP Posted 21 June Posted 21 June Average save percentage last season. Conceded 53 goals in 39 games. Average signing but can't really expect more these days. Just hope we don't pay over the odds. If Stolarczyk is staying he has to be the #1?!
Iwebema Posted 21 June Posted 21 June Seems an odd one, I dont think hes good on the ball? Feels like a non negotiable for Russ ball

kingfox Posted 21 June Posted 21 June He ranked 2nd for save percentage when in League 1, but he hasn’t been in a system where playing out from the back is seen as a key aspect, he ranked bottom for short pass average in the Championship last season, and third from bottom when in League One two seasons ago, unless I’m missing something, he’d be a strange option for Russell ball, when the likes of Joe Whitworth and Teddy Sharman-Lowe are more than likely available and better suited.

I would be ok with someone like this, so long as we sign someone else in case this didn't work Absolutely the sort of signing we should be making. didnt settle in london by all accounts. would get 20+ goals for us next season , no probs.

What we want is consistency. And when you bring a manager in who wants to play a certain style then you sign players that fit that style. A goalkeeper thats shite technically is not that style. It really isnt rocket science Edited 21 June by South Shire Fox

Nope, he seems completely at odds with the attributes the manager wants for his system, no functioning organisation would recruit someone this unsuitable for their new leader. Welcome aboard Arthur!
Ted Maul Posted 21 June Posted 21 June This is going to be a ****ing depressing summer. Fully expect us to try and sign catflap hands Bazunu from Southampton. 2
coolhandfox Posted 21 June Posted 21 June We seen to like collecting crap keepers, the only decent ones we have sign in the last 12 years are Kasper and Mads. Since we sign Kasper we have sign some crap. Begovic Vieites Smithies Ward Jakupović Zieler Schwarzer Hamer

GLC Posted 21 June Posted 21 June We’re going to be linked with so many dross players over the next few weeks, as we’re a big name in this league. can’t wait to be linked to Callum Paterson 2

jv1 Posted 21 June Posted 21 June Might have had an interest pre Martin but zero chance we sign a keeper that can’t play out under the new gaffer - no chance this is happening as above we are basically going to be linked with everyone that is to crap for the championship by players and their agents over coming weeks just to try and get any interest for themselves
Ric Flair Posted 21 June Posted 21 June I don't know much about Okonkwo, he found it very easy to keep Ward out the team given he played 39 of 46 games but thats not a solid baseline is it. Sounds like he's got appalling distribution which makes this signing peak Leicester given the manager we've now employed. 1
orangecity23 Posted 21 June Posted 21 June It's wild how the club will move heaven and earth to make sure they have at least 3 senior keepers on the books at all times and would never dare leave themselves without a heavily experienced third choice keeper on the off chance the other 2 sprain their wrists playing a game of hungry hungry hippos on the team bus, but they have no qualms whatsoever about going an entire season without having a first choice striker. 2

Ward was out injured for most of that time wasn’t he, so I assume he played mostly through necessity. Ward definitely started last season as first choice. 3

Begovic Vieites Smithies Ward Jakupović Zieler Schwarzer Hamer I think some context is needed for these though – none were ever meant as 1st choice, and in some cases they're 3rd choice options. In the main perfectly serviceable, if unremarkable, back up options in case of emergency. Spending £12m on Ward was the worst deal the club has ever done though.
