StriderHiryu Posted 28 January 2022 Posted 28 January 2022 (edited) Good player, box to box midfielder. Engine room type of player akin to KHD. Could be a decent Tielemans replacement. Nowhere near the same quality, but physicality and eye for goal is pretty good. Could see us getting him in the summer, say selling Youri for 50m and bringing someone like this for half the price. Ric Flair Posted 28 January 2022 Posted 28 January 2022 Looks on this highlights reel like what we hopes Soumare would be, but then again Sounare looked like that too. Seems to have more creativity and attacking threat. 2

I think it can be taken as a given that there's a lot more space in the middle of the park in Ligue 1 which isn't really surprising. It's easier to make that sort of impact bursting box to box with more time and space on the ball. I mean look at the difference between Adrien Silva here and there. Fortunately Bouba is still very young and has a lot of time to see if he can settle in and adapt to the pace of the game here. 6
Fox1980 Posted 28 January 2022 Posted 28 January 2022 So we’re in the mix to sign him in the winter market but the player doesn’t want to move in the winter market and the club don’t want to sell in the winter market. Pointless article really!
Ryy Posted 28 January 2022 Posted 28 January 2022 He’s unreal on this years FIFA so purely judging him on that get him in 1
CosbehFox Posted 28 January 2022 Posted 28 January 2022 Engine. Watched him play really well v PSG at end of last season. Fits the PL on paper

Yeah, I can count on one hand the amount of times you see that much space in one of our games.

HybridFox Posted 28 January 2022 Posted 28 January 2022 Oh man gotta do the whole W Fofana, S Fofana thing
adejo92 Posted 28 January 2022 Posted 28 January 2022 Absolutely love how a short compilation video on YouTube seems to give some people a full scout report. 2
urban.spaceman Posted 28 January 2022 Posted 28 January 2022 Newcastle fans have been tracking him on twitter all January, I hope we buy him for £10m less than what they were quoted just for the meltdown.

Stadt Posted 28 January 2022 Posted 28 January 2022 Any potential Tielemans replacement needs to be able to open up a game with the ball at their feet. Seko Fofana isn't really a volume passer. 1
Lambert09 Posted 28 January 2022 Posted 28 January 2022 (edited) Big wes little wes, big fofana little fofana. we might as well just call Wes little from now on. Edited 28 January 2022 by Lambert09

N'golo Kante is nowhere near as good a passer as Youri Tielemans, but is the better player. So maybe we don't need to replace like for like? Liverpool's midfield prior to signing Tiago was not the most creative either, yet never really stopped them. Might be a decent model to follow given the resources we have at our disposal. 3

But we would need a very good RW who creative. 2

Livepool have two elite ball progressing fullbacks though, even when Pereira and Justin are fit they carry the ball well but they're not the sorts to ping the ball around the pitch. Whichever combination Liverpool put out in midfield they're not hamstrung by having a player like Ndidi either, who's obviously a pure destroyer. We need passing ability centrally. I've not checked if he's signed a new contract but Freuler at Atalanta doesn't have long left on his deal. Yacine Adli on loan from AC Milan could be an option too if they don't plan on starting him next season. Teji Savanier and Santi Comesana are slightly more left field options as well. Can't say I've ver watched a great deal of them but their passing profiles a lot like Tielemans. Lovro Majer has only just moved to Rennes but is putting up silly number too. The big opportunity we have with replacing Tielemans is we can sign a player a lot more mobile, there's times he gets overrun quite easily. Replacing his passing and goal threat is hard but I believe we can do it - especially moving back to more of a 433 rather 4231. Edited 28 January 2022 by Stadt 7

Before he went to Juventus, Locatelli was the one I was thinking of after seeing himn play for Sassulo, but of course he has now made the big move. If we could replace Youri with a similar player, that would be ideal. I'm just not optimistic such a player exists. We should never have been able to loan Tielemans in the first place, yet alone sign him and yet somehow we did! To get so lucky again seems unrealistic. But then again in Patson Daka we seemed to have found the heir apparent to Jamie Vardy, so what do I know eh!? 1
