I also posted this in the "Atmosphere at the KP" thread ...

Everyone ... just drop the club an Email, and point out how "un-green" the clappers are (and a waste of material).    If they really want them, then just have a few in a box that people can pick up .... if they really, really want to

I think there's more chance of getting something changed, if we pursue that route, rather than the "we don't like them".

Email: [email protected]  (or maybe [email protected]).   Or if not, use the [email protected] and ask them to forward it to the relevant area.

Solid board is 100% recycled I’m afraid to say.Although the energy involved to produce recycled board is huge compared to plastic recycling.

EV charging point at the new training ground is utterly pointless. Anyone honestly think our players are going to buy a tesla?

some of the staff might.

And to be fair plastic recycling is no great solution either, even BS Boris knows that. I'd bang a carbon tax and dividend system in and let the market forces go to work, but not everyone is on board with that yet.

You will be surprised the interest from football clubs for EVs, the prem not so much but lower leagues. Most cars are on lease or finance and once they are up the dealers are pushing electric on them. More car manufacturers are producing EVs and some nice cars around. JLR will be bring an all electric Range rover soon, Bentley making commitments for evs, porche, even lambos will have an electric car.

I always wonder about the maths on this kind of thing, it's not the easiest thing to determine.

The biggest element of footballs environmental impact is probably matchday related, but you have to compare it with the environmental impact of alternative activities that folks would be doing instead.

For example, is 100,000 people onsite and say 500 million people watching an F1 race on TV greener than par? 18 cars emissions, plus the emissions associated with broadcasts and reception for all those people, it probably is going to be better than the overall average of other alternatives.

I could go and Google this, of course, but enjoy my half-baked opinion anyway.

Madders and his Lamborghini after a bad performance = 302g of C02

Madders and his Lamborghini after a good performance = oxygen, wind turbines, trees and water purification

I think if Top listened to enough fans that cared about the environment and wanting lcfc to do its part in conservation and sustainability he would make it an action item and the rest will follow accordingly.,

ESG is high up on the list of board topics for most mid size companies upwards…this will get increased focus as time goes on.

for those wittering about EV….it’s 100% happening and you won’t be able to buy a petrol or diesel by the end of the decade. I was sceptical myself but likely my next car will be fully electric. It will become the norm in the next 5 years if not sooner

It’s a real shame that u can’t say that climate change is all bullshit , or even say that half of the crap they go on about is crap . BECAUSE if u do u get call all sorts , in Australia more than 70% of us have solar panels , yet our electricity prices still go up because greenies make owners close coal power stations . As for electric cars , only the super rich can afford them , but they will never take of here , there is no way we could get from one state to and other with electric cars . And here’s a point where the hell is all the electric charge going to come from when everyone plugs in at night when the sun goes down , in some states we have blackouts when people put there air con on never mine million of cars trying to get recharged . So I await all the people who want to call me out for having my say .

New Rimac Nevera electric hypercar unveiled with 1,888bhp | Auto Express

Google Rimac (who have just taken on an economy brand called Bugatti), this Nevera pushes out 2000hp.

Lamborghini and Ferrari are currently getting embarrased for acceleration by electric saloon cars, so have no option but to go hybrid at the very minimum. Indeed the the next Lambo Urus has just been announced (although they are saying 2028, tbf), and it will be full electric. The plug-in hybrid Urus is expected very soon, because they are short on power as I explained, and the PHEV is expected to be 820bhp. For non-specialists like yourself and by way of explanation, Vardy and Madders have this car, but I think they drive blue ones.

2022 Lamborghini Urus Review, Pricing, and Specs

28% of new vehicles sold last year in the UK had a plug socket on them, Porsche sells more electric Taycan's than 911's. A Porsche was recently hypermiled across the US, 2800 miles coast to coast on under 3 hours charging. Times have changed.

So what can I say... Are you perhaps an Ostritch? :D

Ever driven an electric car and understood the practicalities? Or have you just read top gear magazine?

You do realise there's one senior member of staff with an EV, zero player and zero coaching staff have one. So very much out of kilter with the rest of the market. Additionally if you look at the car leasing firms they use there's zero demand for them. EV's are practical for short journeys but anything over half an hour and they're clunky - no footballer is going to have the patience for that.

Plug sockets take over 24 hours to charge 🤣

Nothing you say here refutes climate change, it just says the convenience of Australians is more important and that the infrastructure isn't there to act more sustainably yet. One of which is a fair point, albeit I'm not sure about all your arguments (how many Australians regularly drive from state to state for example). The other is laughable; by 2050 there will be more people homeless in Bangladesh alone than the entire population of Australia due to anthropogenic climate change.

I'd love to know what turnstile they found that in

I’m in C1 and there are a few different vegetarian and vegan options for sale (pies, sausage rolls).

I thought this topic was about our club and green credentials.....it doesn't take long for FT to veer off and take a sharp left.  It doesn't matter about whether you are green or not, cleaner air and less pollution is a win win for everyone.

theres actually some electric cars being developed that have  super highly sophisticated solar panels built into their roof that can help charge the car during the day and even as you drive. Sounds like these would be perfect for Australia.

Yeah the coaching staff do too, none of whom have an EV.

It's not just players and coaching staff though.

There is an entire infrastructure supported by human beings most of which drive automobiles.

You gonna tell me.ypu know what everyone drives?  players, coaching team,  backroom staff, admin staff, hospitality staff, maintanence staff, support staff, grounds staff, catering staff, security.

Well it’s confirmed , a lot of British people have been brain washed by Boris and his GREEN wife , ur power bills have gone through the roof and don’t look like coming down soon , more likely they will increase . Maybe if there was equal time for those scientists who don’t totally agree with all this climate crap , u might get a different view , but u just keep ur heads stuck in the sand

https://iopscience.iop.org/article/10.1088/1748-9326/ac2966

"We conclude with high statistical confidence that the scientific consensus on human-caused contemporary climate change—expressed as a proportion of the total publications—exceeds 99% in the peer reviewed scientific literature."

What scientists?

If there's a different viewpoint that has better/more trustworthy evidence for it, then please, present it. Until then, this is misinformation. Which one is of course free to speak, but a response to it saying that misinformation is exactly what it is is also free.

Edit: Alternatively, I don't want to be confrontational, so I might ask, for the sake of interest: what proof that the average global temperature is increasing, that it is caused by humans, and that it will have nasty consequences, would be required to be convincing here?
