st albans fox Posted 10 February 2022 Posted 10 February 2022 Interesting stat 3 years to the day that Claude dropped vards against spurs at Wembley …….. many would say that was the final nail for him ….. 1

When the cross comes in Justin won’t even attempt to jump like the last two goals he’s been at fault for. Rodger’s has coached any urgency out of this team. 2-2 And yet you predict a draw ???? if we get a point at anfield then I’ll take a complete absence of urgency …… 1
coolhandfox Posted 10 February 2022 Posted 10 February 2022 For all the negative, we are unbeaten in 3 games against Liverpool outside of a penalty shoot out.

Are we really counting a game where we cocked up a comfortable lead against a bunch of school children when we brought on dumb and dumber? 1
RowlattsFox Posted 10 February 2022 Posted 10 February 2022 I usually try and think positively but I don't think I've been more confident of a defeat for years. Just think they will steamroll us first half hour and we won't be able to cope. Our only hope is Kasper having a shot-stopping game and they miss chances. We have the ability going forward if we are brave enough, Daka ahead of Iheanacho if only one of them play. I think Rodgers will go with a back 5, Justin as one of the centre backs. Ricardo/Albrighton at right wing back.

If a healthy shake up is required why not start it in the Jan window just gone with at least a new CB. Clear as day they are waiting for 1 maybe 2 better players to go to get some cash in first. I just don't trust him to get it right anymore. A poor performance tonight and he will be spouting on the players again. Because we didn’t have the money to buy a new centre back, and the loans we tried for didn’t come off.

Those were the implosion seasons. He repeatedly said that finances were tight? Did you want them to bring in another Ryan bennet on loan? There’s no point bringing in bodies for the sake of it. Plus it’s allowed Mendy to be registered.

You don't get value for money at all in January, Fofana and Evans rumoured to be not too far off, they will assess things in the summer like most teams do
foxfanazer Posted 10 February 2022 Posted 10 February 2022 Fair play to anybody travelling up there tonight, you're a better fan than me!

Except, as I pointed out, he didn't - https://www.90min.com/posts/6435275-adrien-silva-set-to-leave-leicester-as-brendan-rodgers-eyes-small-squad So whilst he might have 'repeatedly' said it recently - and he's incorrect to suggest that, too. He and Congerton have spent it poorly this season but it was there - it certainly wasn't the mantra during the period I pointed out. During the implosion seasons Rodgers was quoted as wanting a small squad. NOT that there were no finances. Oh, and the point about Bennett? That was a direct result of NOT signing players because of the aforementioned, and referenced, small squad I've quoted Rodgers as wanting. The small squad he wanted suffered an injury crisis and we had to resort to an emergency loan in Bennett. So he would have cost wages early. You're trying to revise what happened.
An Sionnach Posted 10 February 2022 Posted 10 February 2022 I love these battles between the optimists and the pessimists . It will probably be a pretty tight match. No way will we be mugged like we were against Forest. However Liverpool have better players and are in decent form so you would expect them to win. I expect a more defensive line up with four midfielders and we will just have to make it as difficult as possible for them. As long as our team come off the pitch knowing they gave them a good test, I will be happy.

Scotch Posted 10 February 2022 Posted 10 February 2022 Points wise, we won't get anything. All I'm looking for tonight is a bit of fight. I want them to show the fans that they've not just given up and they are willing to run and dig for us and each other. If we get that, I reckon it will be 2-1 to them. If not, I think we will be lucky to get beat by 3 goals. 3
Guest kristianity77 Posted 10 February 2022 Posted 10 February 2022 (edited) Can't see anything other than a Liverpool win I just hope we hold on long enough so the floodgates don't properly open. I'm going 5-0 Edited 10 February 2022 by kristianity77

I'd drop him purely for his set pieces on Sunday, especially the one where he spent 2 minutes placing the ball and flapping his arms around to play the ball across the floor straight to a red shirt

BraunstoneFox23 Posted 10 February 2022 Posted 10 February 2022 As some pundits, and many on here have outlined, any result would be a bonus. What we want to see is hard running, grafting, making those annoying little fouls and recovery runs and just generally looking up for it. The signs have been there for a while about attitude issues, now that the manager has admitted it let’s see the lads do something about it. Regardless of the circumstances we should be treating anfield like a free hit anyway. A 3-0 loss but with an improved attitude from the players would be a massive improvement from what we’ve seen recently. Just make it interesting boys ffs 4
Marshall Cockney Fox Posted 10 February 2022 Posted 10 February 2022 Can't say I'm excited. But you live in hope that we will turn this very long corner eventually.
