So we need to refresh the squad by spending a load, good job the twat has an impeccable record in the transfer market.

The team is in his image but of course he wouldn’t admit that.

I didn't see that with Wilf personally, guilty of jogging about, hiding when a player had the ball, I'd really lovee to see the players stats myself

Tielemans as good as brilliant as he is regularly seems to give the ball away stupidly at the worst possible moment. He does deserve a rocket as it keeps happening. He didn't play yesterday for 'performance reasons'. What's that about?

Soyuncu has degraded as a player from the level he has set for himself. If he were to go would miss his speed and distribution though.

Amartey has improved on where he was but can make calamitous decisions as we saw yesterday. The mistake he made was Sunday league quality.

Barnes has not pushed on, He's been injured which is fair enough, but this version of Barnes is also perhaps nor doing enough defensively.

Lookman has been doing well for a guy played out of position.

Ndidi had a dip but no problems with his attitude.

Iheanacho will never make it at top level. Great goal yesterday and a natural scorer, but how many times have we seen the ball bounce of him or lack the quality of pass and seen a great scoring opportunity ruined?

Going on yesterday, any rebuild this summer will require the services of an Amazonian Deforestation Company.

He talks the talks but doesn’t walk the walk, that performance was on all Rodgers. He is the manager after all. I am fed up of him

It wasn’t all on Rodgers, some of the individual performances were absolutely disgraceful.

Cags and Tielemans in particular really, I’d not be sad to see either get bombed out of the team now.

I honestly think cags and tielemans need to be dropped, neither have been any good this season. You can’t have players that don’t want to put effort in on the pitch.

Call them out, if they are not doing their job, drop them, no room for sentiment.

Some big brave rebuild required this Summer*

What he says may be right but how have we allowed the players to get here?

Everyone knows apart from him he has a reputation as not being the strongest of leaders. Issues only seem to grow under his reign and players have got worse and decreased in value.

Add in his comments in previous interviews and is it any wonder we are where we are.

I find it hard to support this club under him and that is shit to say, I can only imagine how some players must find it working with him on a daily basis.

Other than the complete lack of accountability from himself I think he's absolutely spot on. And this coming from someone who has had enough of him.

Those players need digging out in a big way. They are coasting and don't seem to have the required level of desire.

"But we have too many players who think they're top players but they’re a long way off it.”

Ironically, This is 100% what Rodgers thinks about himself.

Just because he gets linked with Man U, Man City job doesn’t make him a top manager. Same with the players.

It’s clear from these comments there is a clash of egos.

This only happens because the management allow it to. Pearson wouldn’t sign a player unless there temperament was correct. Rodgers needs to look on the mirror. The job of a manager is to motivate / get 100% out of you.

Not everything belongs in the public domain. Do you seriously think he has said what he said in public and not clarified to the culpable indiviudals?

Honestly, I doubt it. I think he said it to keep the players guessing and hoping for a reaction.  But then also I think he said it to try and deflect the blame onto the players. It’s been the narrative since he’s been here:

Win - What a great job Rodgers is doing

Lose - Players aren’t good enough

If it is true that he has not personally communicated the concerns to individuals, then he should go/rethink, as otherwise it breeds uncertainty. And sorry, but yesteday, the players were just a culpable as they were sh*t regardless of tactics, not due to them.

Hopefully our owners don't fall for this sales pitch to protect his reputation. Get him out.

Also the 'we brought the FA Cup into our team meeting today' thing is so David Brent. Did he pull out two envelopes as well? God I bet his team talks are absolute cringe.

I'm sure he would speak to the individuals he is thinking of and maybe he has many times and it's just not getting through to them so it's the final straw now?

I hope big Dan just lifts Rodgers up and hangs him off a clothes peg at training today

All Rodgers has to do is hide in the 6 yard box... Amartey will never find him in there.

He’s protected the players a fair bit this year. I know he’s criticised our defensive errors but on the whole he’s always played the injury card or mentioned that we have a young team.

First time he’s publicly called them out and rightly so.

It’s obvious that there is a divide at the club between the manager and some players. These comments, while undoubtedly justified, have only served to widen it.

It looks to me like more poor management from an increasingly desperate man.

Posted

I personally think he’s a good coach but average manager however I’m not sure who we could get to replace him.

The thing that worries me is this big ‘re-build’ thing. This is not the Leicester way based on our recent success. Ok replace Soyuncu, Tielemens but do we honestly trust Rodgers to completely re-build the squad. For that reason along, get rid

Posted

His philosophical management style only works for a couple of years and then players get bored of it. Now trying to cover his own backside by crying out for new players.

I would love to be a fly on the wall at Seagrave today. I should imagine Top is there. I would love to know what he is thinking.  Players at fault or Brendan or both? I'm sure Kasper will have a word 😉

Tielemans, Amartey and Soyuncu were embarrassing. Tielemans put in no effort whilst the other two are league 1 players, way out of their depth. add to that Barnes is clearly suffering a loss of confidence for whatever reason. Lookman is way more effective playing on the left, we all know that. So why does does Rodgers keep playing him on the right?

If we can avoid being dragged into a relegation battle this season I'll be happy, 15 points needed, 5 wins. Right now it feels like a big ask if you ask me.

Brendan Rodgers tears into Leicester City's 'embarrassing' display as pre-match meeting fails

The Leicester City boss lambasted his players after they fell to a 4-1 defeat to Nottingham Forest as their FA Cup defence ended in humiliating circumstances at the City Ground

Leicester City manager Brendan Rodgers has been left embarrassed by his side’s performance for the first time after their 4-1 humiliation at Nottingham Forest.

City, the FA Cup holders, were dumped out by the Championship side, with a torrid nine-minute period in the first half in which they conceded three goals doing the damage.

Rodgers berated his side’s display after the match, issuing an apology to the 4,000 City supporters who had travelled to Nottingham.

He also revealed that he had brought the FA Cup to the team meeting before the game to remind the players what they had been through to win it a season earlier, with the ploy failing to spark a committed display from his players.

"It was an awful performance and I have to apologise to the supporters,” Rodgers said. “To come here, the first game between the two sides for a long time, a great atmosphere, in derby games you need authority and you need physicality. Those two were sadly missing from our performance.

"I said to the players after that for the first time since I’ve been here I’ve been embarrassed. It was an embarrassing performance. I feel for the supporters and the excitement of coming to here.

“We brought the FA Cup into our team meeting today so the players could see what we went through last year to win this competition, to remind them of the day at Wembley and the journey, and what it takes to win a trophy like that.

“I was looking to provide that motivation and extra desire to come out here today.

“We went away to Stoke, away to Brentford, Brighton, Manchester United, Southampton and then Chelsea, European champions. We come here today and we were really disappointing.”

Asked to put his finger on the main issue in the side’s performance, Rodgers said there was a lack of hunger, again suggesting, as he did on Friday, that a refresh of the squad is needed in the summer to get around it.

He said: “It’s hunger. I said it before about having changes in the squad. It’s a lack of hunger.

“Ok, we are missing players but we didn’t have the physicality to press in certain areas of the pitch and then you get destabilised when you make basic errors. Collectively and individually it was not great.

Rate the players

“We still have a big part of the season to go. I hope the players can go away and reflect. I’m always very optimistic but we can’t mask over that, that’s a huge worry for me today.

“We weren’t stable in our defending and then we get rocked by the second goal. Collectively the basics and fundamentals of the game weren’t there for us.”

Leicester City stars fighting for their future as Brendan Rodgers gives damning verdict on squad

The Leicester City manager gave a highly-critical assessment of his squad after the 4-1 humiliation by Nottingham Forest in the fourth round of the FA Cup on Sunday

Leicester City players have to “fight like hell” to prove they have futures at the club as Brendan Rodgers gave a damning assessment of his squad.

The City boss spoke on Friday of “big changes” to come in the summer, using the transfer market as a chance to reset.

And after a shambolic exit in the FA Cup at the hands of Nottingham Forest, Rodgers said certain players have to show over the next few months they are worthy of a place in the squad as it undergoes a rebuild.

In his critical verdict, Rodgers said “time could be up” for some players, and that the FA Cup triumph last season will be the pinnacle of their careers, while he also said some members of his squad “think they’re top players but are a long way off it".

They do not have the consistency in their desire to keep winning that is needed to be a world class star, he believes.

“We’ve had a really good two-and-a-half-year spell,” Rodgers said after the defeat to Forest.

“But that’s why a lot of these players are not top players. Because they can’t sustain it. That’s where I have admiration for the really top players who can keep that hunger and desire to win, no matter how much they achieve.

“I always judge it on the physicality of the team, the pressing, the aggression. When you stop getting it, you can’t quite get there, your time could be up.

“There are a lot of these players, between now and the end of the season, who need to prove that they are still worthy of being here. Because we’ve seen it now for a little while.

“Forget about the players who are missing. There are players here that may have achieved everything that they can here. It’s not what I want to do.

“It’s something we’ll have to look at between now and the end of the season. Until then, they’ve got to have a look at themselves in the mirror and fight like hell to prove they’re good enough to be here.”

Rodgers did not single any players out as being under threat, but did say James Justin is providing an example of how his squad should be performing.

He added: “I watch training every day and have been in the game long enough to know when, for some, it’s maybe everything they could have ever dreamed of. They bolstered their legend as a player, they won the FA Cup. But that might be it.

“But it’s not for me and not what I want to achieve here and do here. Boys like James Justin, you could see his physicality today. It’s great to have Ricky (Pereira) back. But we have too many players who think they're top players but they’re a long way off it.”

perhaps wasn’t the best move  a few weeks back telling the world the players had overachieved then was it Brendan?
