Is the best way to organise an end-of-season clear out of players you no longer rate, to announce it just beyond the halfway point in an ongoing season?

Players you don’t want , probably know who they are and have no incentive to play well for you any longer. Some of them will have mates in  the players you want to keep group, who will also feel fed up on their behalf. The wanted will also sense a period of upheaval and possibly slow transformation which might convince them it might be time to take up that lucrative deal they were offered elsewhere but turned down because LCFC seemed a club intent on progressing.

Clubs eyeing up our best players will know we need to raise funds for new players and will drive down fees or hold up deals until the last possible moment leaving little time to bring in replacements. Signings will hold off signing until they have a better idea who their teammates are likely to be.

We’re likely only intending definitely selling the obvious couple  - YT and cags. If anyone else wants to leave then we’ll set a price as we generally do.  Brendan has issues that have to be dealt with now and he’s done what he’s done. clearly he felt it couldn’t wait

I'm not sure it was a wise move on Brendan's part and I certainly think he should have taken some personal responsibility but when he made those comments after the Forest game, he very much put the ball in the player's court. If YT and Cags (for example) want a decent move they're going to have to improve significantly between now and the end of the season. He's basically drawn attention to the fact that their form and attitude isn't what it could be. Onus is on those guys to prove him wrong now. It may even put one or two suitors off.

I'm not sure he intended it that way though, maybe he did.

Thr reset needs to start with background staff.

A top quality U21 manager.

A set piece coach.

A fitness coach.

A new head of recruitment.

Maybe a sports phychologist.

Until we sort that, the playing staff is secondary.

I do agree with this. One of my biggest frustrations is the non stop injury problem we seem to have had for the last few years. A problem we seemed not to have very often before that time. It seems to coincidentally happen when Rodgers came in. I remember a few years ago I made remarks to friends how LCFC never got injuries as we had a fantastic medical staff. I miss that.

Outgoings:

close to guaranteed:

- Youri: 40m+, I doubt the club would be willing to let him go for much less than we bought him for.
- Cags: 30m, turn a decent profit and get rid of a player who clearly isn't committed to us anymore
- Praet: 15m, Torino have an obligation to buy iirc
- Perez: 10m+, honestly I'd take anything over 10m to get rid of him, just can't provide us with anything special

likely:

- Mendy: 5m, take anything we can get for him, he doesn't want to be here anymore, stated that publicly
- Bertrand: what's the point with him? He's got 1 year left on his contract, just rip it up and pay him off or loan him out and recoup some of the wages.

depends on the situation:

- Vestergaard: 5m? Depends if we could find some Bundesliga club or another Premier League club to pawn him off to. No point in holding onto him as a squad option, waste of space.
- Hamza: 5-10m, Obviously a local lad who's loyal to the club. Depends on how well he does until the end of the season with the chances he gets. At the end of the day he's never going to be a starter.

All in all we've got the potential to recoup close to 90-100m this upcoming summer with sales.

Incomings:

- Lookman: 15m, make him permanent, looks to be a solid squad player, basically what we always wished Perez was.
- 2 CBs at least, one experienced head e.g Tarkowski, one Fofana profile defender, young, dynamic etc. e.g Todibo, Schlotterbeck
- 1 LB: We can't embark on yet another season with just one natural LB in our squad.
- 1 RW: The usual, for the love of god can we get a left-footed right sided player.
- 1 #10 cover: Self-explanatory, we don't have anyone to play in place of Madders should he be unavailable
- 1 #8: With just KDH and Soumaré we'd need one more CM in the squad
- This last point is entirely dependent on outgoings, but we'd need cover for Ndidi should we get rid of Hamza and Mendy and Ndidi be unavailable.

All in all this could cost us upwards of what we make through sales so our owners would have to splash out another 30-40m potentially

Torino have no obligation to buy

cags with one year left - lucky to turn our money around imo - £20m.

YT with one year left - likewise. We paid £32m for him - I reckon max £35m

Was quoting the prices in Euros cause I've only really got the numbers from Fabrizios tweets in my head

Is this like the envelopes thing where the players are meant to keep guessing as to whether they're one of the players he wants to get rid of? That definitely won't backfire...

Nah

This is very clearly aimed at Youri, potentially Cags.

If you've stated your desire to leave to go and play CL football elsewhere/ not committed yourself to Leicester because you think you can play at a higher level elsewhere but then go utterly invisible when it matters most it's Brendan's right to remind them that if they are what they think they are, they would be putting in 110% world class performances every game, every week, no matter the circumstances off the pitch and not just when it suits them. That's what makes a world class player/ champions league-level player, the ability to at least put in 9/10 performances consistently.

I just can't even begin to understand how you think any club would pay £30m for Cags...

Who’s going to pay 30m for cags? Only English clubs would pay that sort of fee and I can’t see anyone wanting him now.

15m tops from a European team. No way an elite club goes near him

😂 Not even in your dreams. He is dogsh*t

It was a big mistake at this point mentioning that it is time for some to move on. He has got to work with the squad for another 3 months yet until season close. Fair enough maybe with a couple of games to go but I'm not sure how he can motivate them now.

Maybe he knows deep down his time is coming to an end and it was a frustrated pot shot.

Project reset is needed but I don't think Brendan will be the one doing the rebuild.
