Absolutely fantastic tonight folks, took me back to the kop in the sixties, haven't heard the KP like that ever. The noise after the second goal was awesome, the whole Kop on its feet singing. We need more nights like that, well done to my fellow UFS'ers, a brilliant effort. And same to all those that moved over from other parts of the ground. Rennes fans apparently said it was a brilliant atmosphere, the best in Europe. See, we can bloody do it given a chance. Roll on the next one, even though it's now 1-15 and I've just got home.

Ever? It was good last night, but not a patch on 2015-17

Where have they said that? 😅

I wasn't in that section tonight but well done to everyone who was, as one of our senior supporters it brought back memories of the old days in the kop at Filbert St.

Sounded good on TV!

Could clearly hear a lot of the chants. Good effort.

Yup,  got me singing along to a few, but there are so many new ones I dont know....is the lyrics thread still going??

Fantastic result and great atmosphere.. for some strange reason we tried behind the dugout in B2.. maybe not the best place for a sing song but great atmosphere either way from both the section and the group next to Rennes fans..

must admit that the were on our way chant did get lost after albania a lot of the time. Sounded from our side it got slightly quiet and didn’t catch any of it until someone has just posted up the words which makes sense now.. perhaps if someone wants to post the lyrics to the new chants then it would get more people involved next time..

but great stuff both.. by the way unless I’ve missed it what was amartey (don’t stop the party) one..

He had a hit in the early 90's I remember quite liking it at the time, looks like he's let himself go since then.

I think anyone that knows of him on Twitter have been asking themselves the same question for a while lol

The amount of hoops the club made UFS jump through and a particularly underhand move about an hour before kick off had me almost at breaking point with them.

However parking that it was clear and above the best section to date.

What did they do?

I think when issues like this arise, it’s good for the wider fanbase to know.

Far too many thing the club can do no wrong because of some free beers, free T-shirts and the on-field success. But I’m fairly sure most fans - even if not wanting to get involved themselves - can appreciate that the club should want to support a better in-stadium atmosphere for the team if nothing else.

The rest of the Kop was still absolutely shit.

Even immediately next to the section.

I was at the back of the section and although good it was similar to what it's normally like up there.

Was noisier further down but that noise doesn't travel to the back of the stand well although I understand UFS want to be lower down to be a focal point which does make sense.

I didn’t go in the singing section last night having been in all of the previous ones and we stayed in L1, which was also pretty good compared to how it’s been recently, but there are few things I’ve thought:

Firstly, there was atmosphere on all sides of the ground last night and I think it was largely to do with lots being there who don’t usually get the opportunity to. Lots of new faces in L1 and it made me think that with our ground more or less being a closed shop for league games, maybe it’s just that we’re lacking the freshness of those who can’t get in regularly and it’s just stale with those who can.

Secondly, our stadium really is the pits acoustically. The club talk about not wanting to impact the atmosphere with the re-development but if they were serious about it they’d get some sound architects in to see what could be done. It’s not like we haven’t got the money now to be able to make amendments in a way we couldn’t for the first 10 years we were in the stadium. From L1 I could see that people in the singing section were on their feet and singing but only hear faintly on occasion.

Thirdly, whilst SK1 looked like they were having a good time, it only looked to be bleeding slightly into SK2 in terms of people there getting involved occasionally. SK3/that area dead centrally behind the goal is dead - no movement and clear to see people just sat there in silence. It shows that this idea of stimulating ‘the Kop’ is futile - it’s dead and unsalvageable IMO with the hoardes that now sit in there with no interest in an atmosphere.

Finally, one of the biggest takeaways is this: despite having a singing section on offer, there were still plenty in L1 and that P1 section the other side of the away end, standing and singing. The club (and Union FS if they’re really to grow) need to realise why: and it’s because a large number of people who want to stand and sing also want to be near the away fans. If they don’t relocate the Family Stand and make that end safe-standing as part of the re-development then all that will happen will be a safe-standing area in SK1 and battles with groups who continue to stand in the seats near the away end.

I genuinely believe we could have one of the atmospheres in the country. But all those who want to sing need to be brought together and it’ll never happen at ‘the Kop’ end of the stadium. What can Union FS and the club agree on to leave those in ‘the Kop’ to sit with their blankets and hip flasks in peace and get all those that want to stand, sing and be near the away end together?

Fantastic night. Why would you not want that every week?

Really hope the players speak up about that area of the ground. Feels like it's the only way the club will listen.

Aware the club watch this intently, plus there is a long game to be played.

Put it this way the display and section would have been a lot grander and colourful.

See Rangers tifo display and pretty much every other game last night for what UEFA seemingly had no issue with there.

This is amusing.

The club watches FT alot and still insists on deafening goal music and sanitisation of anything fun. It's like we're a social experiment to them.

He literally goes to away games with a dartboard on his head.

I'd be more worried if he liked what the group did tbh.

Was class last night, I'm still absolutely buzzing. The celebrations for Nacho's goal were right up there with the best I've been part of, partly due to the fact a lot were heading for the exits when he scored, proper avalanche of bodies down the stairs either side of where we were.

Only issue with that spot currently is the lack of space for the main UFS banner, seems trivial but there's a lot of pride in that banner and it's a shame there's no room for it currently in that spot.

Roll on the next one.

You wouldn't think solol with the amount of fans that complain about the near deafening music, yet they still belt it out game after game

Brilliant atmosphere last night. Had a United Season Ticket holder join me in SK1 and he said it was better than anything they've had at OT for a long while.
