With no Ndidi we could do with solidity of 343

3at the back means we could play KDH and Tielemans In front. Ricky and Justin wide with Maddison and Barnes playing in the gaps off Iheanacho.

 

No need to play mendy or choudhury or soumare if we have so many good players back to play slightly differently.

343 would be a complete retrograde step now. We've just started getting the odd clean sheet and you want to confuse the poor buggers!

 

Fofana should be used sparingly. Mendy is available. No problem, we've reasonable cover. KDH could do with a rest possibly. Tielemans could pull his finger out and join in perhaps.

Yes, I was also at the league cup game with Brentford at Filbert Street, when we were losing 2-0 with 8 minutes to go, and had been absolutely dire all game, then from no where came back to win 4-2.

I'm worried about the centre of the park. Without Wilf, we lose so much physicality. Mendy simply doesn't tackle anyone. He marks people and the space between. But he doesnt get stuck in. So you can't play Madders & Mendy in a midfield, as you'll barely see a tackle. I imagine KDH will now need to drop deeper and restrain his attacking intent so as to add muscle in the middle.

We've just managed to avoid them. In the League One season they finished top of League Two, missed out in the play-off final in 2013 to Yeovil then promoted the next season as we won the Championship.

 

Only team in the top two divisions I've not seen us play live.
