That is an absolute disgrace. I'm all for cheaper tickets but they should've been open to everyone from the start.

Feel for those who've paid full price.

I don’t mind the fact I’ve paid full price.

I do mind that our naive ticket office have allowed themselves to be scammed.

See my previous reply. It's not so much the STH element or the loyalty, just the fact that it's an event. You don't start off at £30, then sell the rest of the tickets with the same view for £15. You don't see that happening with concerts, or a Strictly tour oreven other sports. Everyone should pay the same.

You do see that all the time. I didn’t pay full price for Joshua v usyk and haven’t for fury v white through Amex experiences. Got loads of discount codes through them for gigs aswell. Likewise literally every electronic gig I’ve been to has tiered pricing structures.

To add to this, if you ever know people staying in good hotels, you can use their concierge service for cheaper tickets to one off events. They usually hold an allocation for guests. I have long since given up moaning about the system. If you can’t beat em, join em

Which is basically exactly what this is isn't it? Cool as leicester give out their black card to promote local businesses and offer discounts for membership. This being one of them.

I'm not defending the club on this as it's been poorly managed in this respect with how it's panned out - but once it's given out to a company/org, can anyone control who it goes out to?

What they should have done is perhaps limit the amount of sales it allows using that code. Or specify when it was happening i.e. if it was always planned for today at a specific time, advertise that so if people want to risk losing their seat from their window, and risk it until today to buy a ticket anywhere but for a cheaper price, then that's the risk they take.

This isn't the worse thing the club has done, but it's not the cleverest thing either.

Who’s to say the club didn’t pull the code, and the set allocation of discount tickets actually sold out?

This needs some clarification from the club.

For those who don’t know, Cool As Leicester is like an Instagram page promoting local events and businesses and they offer a black card (paid for and limited in number) where they have agreements with some of those businesses for discounts etc.

It’s not immediately clear why the football club would be engaging with them on any charitable type of basis (unless they also do some kind of work for underprivileged groups etc on the side). But the club already have football in the community departments and I’m sure links with every local school etc so I can’t figure out why any initiative along those lines would not just be handled through that. Those initiatives are, and I believe would be even in this instance, supported by pretty much every fan who will appreciate that giving back or getting school kids in for cheap is important for the club’s role in the community.

But a discount code for an exclusive group of paid-for card holders with a small-scale Instagram page? That would make less sense…

I’ve seen on their socials that the girl who founded it has put up photos of her in hospitality down the KP so there’s obviously some kind of business arrangement on the go. But if that extends to LCFC offering 50% discounts to people who aren’t regulars rather than sensible pricing all round to just pack the ground out that way then that stinks.

I like the cool as Leicester page. Does great PR for independent businesses. I have absolutely no issue with someone paying cheaper proce than me. I paid a price what i felt was worth to me my time and money.

What is galling is the amateurish ticket office who fail time after time after time.  Every last one of those glum bustards needs sacking for incompetence (especially that nasty late middle aged old crow who took great delight in withholding a ticket from my son in Warsaw as the voucher was in a family member's name. I'd gladly see that old hag on the scrap heap...not that I'm bitter)

That’s not really true though, is it?

You paid a price that you thought was the only price at the time. That’s the thing with football tickets, it’s usually the case that you know where you stand with what you’re paying based on age or area of the ground you choose to sit in etc.

What people will find frustrating, disappointing, gutting etc. is that they paid what they expected to be the only price and then found out that actually - in a time where many are up against it financially- there was another price band out there.

And so we come back to a common line with this sort of thing: “I paid [x] and I’m happy enough with that”. But what about others for whom that 50% difference is a bigger deal than for you?

That's a cynical way of looking at it I guess lol

Googling cool as Leicester. Looks decent

It’s got lots to offer to Leicester folks.

But if what’s happened is they’ve been able to offer paid card holders a 50% discount then that’s not so cool…

Could be a genius bit of marketing from Cool As Leicester now 20,000 Leicester fans start trying to figure out what they are because of this lol

Wow.

It's not the same. Again, we're talking a one off event not a subscription service.

Even take away the STH element of this, if Elton John rolls into town flogs 20,000 tickets at £100 each then a week later sells another 10k at £50 for the same view, those first 20k are going to be pissed. STHs accept that sometimes there will be a kids for a quid or whatever that fills a ground up but that's based on their STH sale. If they buy their own seats at £30 then others get sold at £15, it's a rip off.

I get what you’re saying but this sort of thing happens all the time for big concerts where ticket sales are lagging.

The club clearly didn’t mean to release thousands of tickets at such a discounted rate but it happened.

In a few years, the club will have to sell thousands of extra tickets and are already having enough trouble filling the ground for a European quarterfinal. Granted, this was a bit of a fuchs up but they have to start figuring out how to expand the base of match-going supporters.

Club membership holders?

It doesn’t really make sound business sense unless it’s a capped number of tickets.

Why lose £12.50 to £15 on a ticket when if you priced a bit cheaper in the first place, you could have ‘lost’ £5 to £10.

Like I said before PSV will have a case with UEFA here potentially. You can’t sell tickets at a discounted price for a comparable seat to the away end. So if anyone in one of those corners is sat there for £15, PSV can claim that their away end tickets should be £15.

The bizarre reality of this you’d have got more of a saving on on the three Conference League home games if you paid for a third party independent subscription card than if you paid for your membership this season direct to the club. That’s baffling.
