this is the problem with so many midweek games tbh, bring back the football specials. doesn't help those travelling from afar but certainly should have later trains going out to stops in the county

The demand is there and so is the money.

It must just be another case of the unions having the train companies by the bollocks.

No fault of the fans to leave early, train companies don't help matters. Would help fans out if some companies operators perhaps ran service up to 1am, also help people wanting a nightout in the city.

Leaving early on a weekday at the end is understandable but what is up with people going in for beer and food 40 minutes in? Final 5 minutes of one of the biggest halves of our season and the stands were emptying out.

That is weird now you can pre-order and service is pretty quick at half-time.

Some of us take our 1 year old daughter to the game and want to beat the traffic

Am sure she wouldn’t mind staying up later? The “magic” of Christmas and all of that

I never get fans who arrive just seconds before kick off then go for ten minutes before half time for an overpriced pint then return five minutes into the second half. Whats the point... want a pint then watch it in a pub.

I'm sure she hasn't really got much clue what is going on beyond cold, smelly and noisy.

I've seen people spend the whole game on the concourse having pint after pint, chatting and keeping up with the game on the screens.

Not even going to their seats!

I just don't get it!

Pretty sure she’s still coming to terms with the turmoil at the club and the change in managership. Then there’s the shift in tactics and kick off time too. Honestly, I don’t believe the club or Amazon thought about MTWG’s daughter and the likely impact of their decisions on a growing mind.

Just think it’s really sad for society when older generations constantly talk down and demean the younger generations like this. Just be better pal

That’s enough about her dad….

Right. I’ve finally cracked. There are a couple of blokes on my row - we’ve christened them Pinky and Perky - who routinely arrive just after kickoff, spend the last few minutes of the first half and first few of the second down on the concourse, then (naturally) leave well before the end whatever the score and whatever the time of the game.

Sitting near the aisle we have to get up during the game four times to let them through. Every game. It’s annoying to say the least.

Each to their own and all that, but I really don’t know why they bother.

In order to know that, presumably you spent the whole game on the concourse....

Or he's one of the kids who work in the concessions kiosks.

So I obviously live in Hertfordshire. For last night's game my son and I came up on the train (£45 each). Stayed in a decent Airbnb on Cambridge Street (£100). Train to London for me this morning (£45). He took a train back to Manchester, where he works. Then there's the season tickets. I'm lucky, I can afford to do this and choose to do so. But it is ridiculous, and making it an 8.15pm kick off is vile. So too is VAR. But because we won, and this made me happy, I then went and spent money in the club shop despite a few weeks ago vowing not too because it's full of overpriced rubbish. The powers that be know we are hopeless addicts.

Nope, you presume wrong.

On the rare occasion I didn't have to drive I'd enjoy a few beers, a few more than my bladder can hold these days.

Multiple visits to the gents only to see the same group gathered around the watching the game on the concourse screens. I think they engage in game betting so maybe that's why.

1 of em I used to know back in the day. I think it's more than a social event for him than a football match. Damn expensive one but it's up to him/them I guess but I just don't get it.

Does not matter what sport you watch. Some will always leave early it’s impossible to stop. They have paid there money it’s up to them. But it’s dam frustrating when they keep walking in front when you are trying to watch the game
