Just so odd that he was ever promoted back above Iversen. I think it started last season, whenever Mads was injured, Ward would be on the bench with Jakub starting. Then of course Iversen went to Stoke.

If you’ve gone from being a first-choice GK in the Premier League, to third choice in the Championship, surely you should move on?

From the sounds of it, he'd make a good coach rather than a good keeper

Maybe he should try coaching himself and in time he could improve to apalling.

No one should equate his lack of talent with his lack of human kindness, but he's employed to stop people scoring not to be a nice bloke!

So is Mads permanently broken?

What's the latest with him?

“On Mads, there’s no update. He’ll be out for a bit longer. That won’t change over the coming weeks.”

Het the feeling they are trying to rehab his groin injury without surgery and he will end up having surgery.

I can see it being February before we see him maybe March.

We're trying to recreate 14/15 where Kasper who never missed games randomly disappeared around this time for 3 months before coming back for the great escape and all that followed

Happy to bank the 50k a week but wants to sit on the bench for it. Pathetic excuse of a man.

Who gave him the contract? He’ll never earn anyway near that figure ever again. He’d be a muppet to give it up

According to the Percy article he asked to be dropped!!

What a soft touch our club has become!

Bet he didn’t ask for a pay cut

They shouldn't pay him!

Imagine going to work 'sorry boss, can I sit this week out, I am having a shocker'......they'd send you home on statutory pay!

Meanwhile at Injurygrave they're directly texting Top and licking his arse and undermining the management/coaching staff. The culture is absolutely ****ed!

I have always maintained that back up goalkeeper might be the best job in football. You get to go to training every day, do goalkeeper drills which always look way more fun than the ones the outfield players are doing, little pressure as people expect you not to be as good as the first choice, the second choice won't ever get drafted in to play U-23's, and you get paid tens of thousands a week for the privilege.

However, the least you can do is keep yourself in shape and be ready play if called upon, I don't think Ward does either of these things.

He didn't offer himself 50K a week, if that is what he's on, but if you accept that and don't even do the bare minimum that's expected of you, you have to accept it when you get a bit of stick.

For what it's worth, I didn't agree with the wide scale booing and jeering at the Wolves game, but at least we haven't seen him again.

Think this tells you everything you need to know. Get the impression with Ward it’s a mentality thing. Trains well then bottles it when it comes to doing it in front of fans. Bet his water bottle is still behind the goal after the Wolves game!

If footage of Ward in training exists, where he stops 6-pounder cannonballs fired at him from the spot, and jumps over the bar, then Ruud was justified in starting him against Wolves.

This quote referred to HT against Wolves?

I understand from his point of view why he would want to be taken off, he'd made mistakes which led to his own fans booing him, but that mentality isn't great.

If this is genuine and he was asking to be dropped, why has he not been dismissed?

Psychological issues?
