Will Vardy score another 21 PL goals and get into the all-time top 10?

  1. 1. Will JV get to 151 PL goals?

Take your blue tinted specs off for a second. He'll be 36 in January but will JV get to 151 PL goals and overtake Michael Owen?

I don't think so either. He'd essentially need to go on til he's 38 still getting regular football.

Also think Salah will overtake Owen anyway pretty soon.

Contentious thing to say, but I hope Vardy is not leading our attack next season. Watch the 2015/16 DVD to see how much he's lost from his game. He's still crafty and lethal in the box, but we'd get more as a team if we signed Tammy Abraham and played Nacho or Daka off him.

Depends if he can stay fit.

12 goal in 22 games this season, no penalties either.

22/23 - 12 goals

23/24 - 7 goals

24/25 - 4 goals

If he stays on that long, those are quite conservative numbers so he could easily do it.

I need another option.

He could score 21 more... just if he keeps injury free. But it may not get him in the top 10 (for long).

Lukaku is only 9 behind.

Salah is only 11 behind (1/2 a season).

Mané is only 20 behind.

If any of those stay in the Prem for 2/3 more seasons they'll definitely overtake Vardy pretty quickly.

+ Sterling, he’s on 108

I think he’ll play another season properly (at least) with 10+ goals in the prem and I’ll back him to score another 10 off the bench when the time comes and he’s not as prominent in our side I reckon he’ll just about do it

Can you really give the first goal to Vardy? Not sure it would have gone in without the deflection.

Head says no heart says yes.

A full season as our main striker without injury normally sees Vardy get around 20 goals.

Bag a couple more before the end of the season, then optimistically he could reach 150 goals next season, but with injuries, age and succession planning I can't see him playing a full season as the main man.

Then it comes down to whether he can be successful as an impact sub/occasional starter and how long for. 1 full season and a couple of seasons as a bit part player could see another 20-30 goals.

Yes, plenty of the others in and around the top 10 will have had them.

Yeah, I think next season might be his last as a starter, but you never know with Vardy. He could go on like Ibrahmovic has.

Still can see a couple of seasons as an impact sub afterwards though. The 5 subs coming in next season will help his manage him a lot more.

Maybe.

He's struggling to stay fit these days and you fear the next injury will be his last. You would think his starts will be limited next season and becoming a bit of a super sub perhaps.

Then again, people have written him off many times before and he's then gone on a hot streak so who knows?

How can 19 people vote no after everything they've seen?

Because he’s 35 and no longer operating at the level he was. A brace against Norwich combined with nostalgia is not what the club needs to move forwards.

Even though I don't think he'll get to it, 21 just seems too far away now at his age, I'd have maybe backed him before the injury. But as phube said I think a few will have gone past Owen if he ever did reach it
