Private jet not long left East Midlands to Nice.

Remember those halcyon days when tracking flights meant we were getting excited about an INCOMING player?

Good times...

Has he not stitched us up by leaving us so late, be interesting to know when he decided he was off

The way he walked round on his own waving at the end of the season seemed to denote the end to my son and I. Quite similar to Cambiasso really albeit that was partly expected.

I do think that unlike a lot of players, Schmeichel has left a bit of his heart here. He spoke in interview of wanting to be a one man club and to a large extent got his wish here together with some very very good memories and the obvious sad ones. I genuinely think he cared/cares about Leicester City.

Despite some gripes about issues like coming off his line and distribution at times, he's been a monster of a goalkeeper for us. I'll miss him, a part of Leicester City has left with him.

However, I wish him every success for the future and will cheer him on at his next venture and hope he's successful. Thank you Caspar.

He’s been the most outstanding goalkeeper and servant. But I’ve never seen his loyalty and love directed towards the club directly. Instead it is really tied to the owners and everything they have done for him and us. For example, in the recent ITV documentary he never spoke outright his love for Leicester City, but for Vichai and Top. He was far more glowing about Denmark national team.

He was a colossus for us and an absolute legend. Yes, we’ve had our gripes with him and set pieces recently but that shouldn’t diminish what he has done for us over the years.

I do wonder if he would have been so loyal had a big club came in for him. He seems a very driven person, so I’d expect not. A bit like Noble at West Ham.

It would be a nice if we could say goodbye to him / him to us at the weekend.

Either way, I’m sure there will be some Smeichel chants at some point.

Its his medical today, doesn't signing usually follow straight after that?

A real shame there is no proper goodbye.

He had tons of respect already but when he came up to fans in Warsaw post match, that was superb.

Hopefully there is an agreement where he can be brought out on Sunday so he can at least get the reception he deserves.

Well buggrit. It’s like preparing for the death of a relative… you might think it’s coming , but until it actually happens you can’t believe it. And then after, you still can’t.

I rather seem him leave at the top than see him dwindle, his performance drop over time.

He is a legend and rightly lorded, but time stands still for no man.

The King is dead, Long live the King and all that.

Absolutely hope there isn't. Bring him back later in the season, not the right message to send to ward or iversen right now.

Really really interested to see how the club handle the announcement.

Cannot believe there wasn't more made of it vs Sevilla.

I meant at half time. I don't see how Kasper saying good bye after 11 really good years affects them in the slightest.

Completely disagree with that. Both Iversen and Ward will know Kasper very well and I’m sure will be more than happy for this to happen. I doubt they’d give a toss about it tbf.

It’s not like it’d be a send off to Spider Kalac. It’d be a send off to one of the best keepers the club has ever had
