Yes, very obviously. The premier league likely did not want to mess about with their marquee opening weekend because there's a caribbean festival on in Leicester, so rejected the request to have Leicester play away first. Leicester v Brentford at Saturday 3pm or Sunday 2pm makes absolutely no difference commerically to the league, its not a tv pick. The fixtures revolve around the big 6 and the broadcasters, not a festival in Leicester lol

Clubs can request weekends they don't wish to play on. The police are insistent on it for Diwali weekend in Leicester for example. It all goes in the modelling to make the fixtures function before they are revealed.

Ironically looking at the fixtures, it wouldn't have caused that much disruption to swap the fixture to Brentford as the other two West London clubs face the Liverpool teams, so a complete swap would have worked for all six clubs.

Bizarrely it can have an effect commercially because of the international broadcaster don't get as many options - ideally they'd rather stick all the unattractive games on Saturday at 3. Laughably, somewhere like Denmark would have a lot of interest in Leicester v Brentford as a lead Saturday 3pm game but now it clashes with Manchester United on the Sunday.

Fair enough I stand corrected. @goose2010 I agree with you now!

Would also depend on whether QPR are going to be at home as well - I imagine Brentford, Fulham and QPR all being at home on same day is not allowed

True but this can be worked it if it’s declared early enough

First set of fixtures moved for tv have been sorted. Just waiting for the announcement.

Very surprised neither of London games in August on TV. That Man U game is rancid and the knock on it has.

Forest being on so much (including Leeds in the great yesterdays club derby) is the most predictable thing in football since our performance in Rome

That Man Utd fixture move is horrendous

Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday is not really that different is it?

The only thing that is annoying is it knocks a Saturday game onto a Sunday following.

Lots of Saturday 15:00 games, would have been more if it wasn't for the carnival. Some nice London Saturday away games.

Yeah because it’s pushes a Saturday 3pm back a day. Brighton away on a Saturday has so much more potential than it does on a Sunday.

lol I booked the Man Utd game off work so gotta move that again. Not to bothered though as midweek makes no difference to me whatever day.

Brighton on Sunday on shit but aside from that we've done okay to miss some others. I thought Arsenal would be a given so I'm pleased that stays as 3pm for once.

Wish they'd knock on the head this ridiculous Thursday, then consequently Sunday thing in league games. I do think though bar that we've got a rare good hand here.

It is shit. Problem with having three broadcasters.

That schedule is a joke 26 games with 21 of them featuring Sky’s Top 6.

We are shown once late in September the likes of Arsenal and Man U have been on 4 or 5 times by then.

Even Forest, Villa, Leeds, Newcastle, Palace are shown 3 times, there’s about 5 other clubs only shown once it bloody stinks

I’m happy about it. It means we play more on a Saturday, when we should be playing. We have to expect and accept that some games will get moved. Also, it’s how broadcast works. More people follow the bigger clubs, which instantly means more people will be watching these games.

I don't know what you're talking about. All our 38 games are on TV.

As above, the less we are on TV the better from a scheduling perspective (more Saturday games) but of course less money.
