It is ironic that you would try and angle for sympathy with a diagnosis after dismissing other people's wellbeing, yeah.

Or we just accept the post and self-reflection and move on?

I don’t see any angling at sympathy.

It’s Friday night so moving on and seeing Soumare start our rebuild with his pending move to Monaco is progress for me.

If our Monégasque friends are to be believed, the majority of the money from Soumare is already allocated to Sofiane Diop…

I’m going to go against the norm and hold my hand up and say I know nothing about Diop.

What’s the report on him?

I have it on good authority that he is a right footed left winger, and also that, @Ric Flair is going to lose his sh*t

To be fair, he does play across the front positions, and this only a bunch of dumb ass football fans on a forum talking…

…..oh wait

I like Diop, can't protest to think he'll sort out the elusive RW spot though because he's played far more on the left or through the middle and as we've seen with Lookman who's best

position is on the left, playing him on the right didn't really improve us.

Reportedly 1 million now and 18 million in add ons if Monaco win the Corendon Cup.

Do they need to play the holders or Hull?

Ok, just 1 million it is then….

As I say, was only some fans, and I thought it unlikely but we did have reported interest previously I think?

We've supposedly held talks and he wants to come here.

They would have to knock out the current holders

Is he even an upgrade on Lookman mate?

If not, at least we know Lookman can do a solid job in the Prem, less of the unknown about him.

He's probably better than Lookman as an overall player but Lookman can be very efficient and I like how chances fall to him. If you'd asked me the price range before this summer for what Diop would be valued at it would be north of £30m, but maybe there's an opportunity to get him for a reasonable fee.

....he (Diop) looks like Brennan Johnson and plays in the same manner!!!

Lookman for me has a big question mark, poor on the RW but more suited to the LW, and has a knack for getting into advantageous positions to threaten defences. You feel he should get a plethora of assists but his decision-making lets him down.

You can see Rodgers will attempt to fudge the RW issue, if we bring him in, then Maddison goes central and we revert to 4-2-3-1.

He looks skinny for this league and probs be weak this is the only worry.

yeah we had this Algerian winger a few years ago who was skinny and weak… don’t think he amounted to anything…

Alright, you're right, sorry Murph. I shouldn't have brought it further.

Well you've got much different sources to me then!

I don't doubt he's liked, and I also don't necessarily think its the best option to sell him, but I do accept I don't see him in training every day....

But what I will say is that if a club matches what we have set as our 'cut losses' point; he's gone.

If that doesn't happen, he will naturally get his chance.

Let’s just hope that if an acceptable bid arrives (maybe Monaco) we are able to move quickly to bring in the much needed RW.

I would be shocked if any deals are that close to concluding given the fact that most of the players tipped for the exit door are named in one of squad or the other for todays games.

The only clue of something moving significantly would be a late withdrawal or two from the squads

For training purposes, I think you proceed on the basis of'no change'. I think you have to. You don't leave players out because something might happen (unless it's affecting the player) Transfers don't happen for all manner of reasons. There's something about rotund, female opera singers that applies here I think.

I think it would be a shame to let this lad go. He clearly has talent. He just needs help and guidance adjusting to life in the uk which I’m sure has been offered. I mean, France is literally next door so that should help. I’d much rather us get rid of Bertrand, Vestergaard, Amartey, Syoncu, Hamza and Perez.

Whilst I agree in principle as has been stated ad nauseam getting new homes for the latter players you name is not easy.  Soumare on the other hand does still seem to have genuine value to French teams.

If he is actually unhappy or unsettled then best for everyone concerned to sell and recoup most of what we paid for him.  If he really wants to stay and will put in maximum effort then I'm all for it.

I'd love nothing more for him to become a midfield lynchpin for us and to prove, yet again, that football fans are far too quick to dismiss young players.
