I’d like to keep him but we NEED a right footed winger. If we sell him I’d put it in the bracket of ‘take one for the team’ kind of thing.

We've got three right footed wingers, what we need is a left footed winger to play on the right.

I think Soumare's omission from the reserves against Brentford is a pretty good indication they're looking to move him one way or the other.

Thank goodness.

I know recruitment is a crapshoot but he really was a failure

Ditto. And Everton desperate for a striker too...but in this market I'd still see him as £30M+

So are Utd.  A 24yr old proven PL scorer, should go minimum 25-30M. On topic, hopefully Soumare does go to Monaco. It's a good deal all round, he goes to a league/country he's comfortable in and we break even.

I did mean a right winger more than a right footed winger

Sourmare should have been like Brighton's Moises Caicedo who I've read ran the show in Midfield at Old Trafford.

He must be outstanding as I've read he produced the most tackles, most interceptions and created the most chances of anyone on Sunday.

Amazing considering he's only 20years old and Brighton bought for only 4m from a Ecuador team that no one has heard of.

His idol is former Leicester player N'Golo Kante aswell!

tbf Soumare put in a great shift against Utd at our place, during the 4-2 win last season.

Exactly the sort of player we should be taking a chance on.

...I would not see, that he is anywhere near what we paid for him!!!

Very inconsistent, has a problematic first touch, an inability to hold up play when receiving balls with his back to goal. You would need your team to play a certain way in order to incorporate Nacho.

His dropping into the #10 spot is what he wants to do, you would have to indulge him, for it to work. Pretty much a niche player.

I wonder if we will keep him around if Hamza leaves, or settle for Ndidi/Mendy. Potentially could go from having too many midfielders to not enough if Soumare, Praet and Tielemans get thier moves as well.

He's scored over 20 goals in 2020/21 and the year before got 15+, even last season his goals and assists output is high. I'm very surprised a desperate club hasn't come in for him in the belief thst as their main striker they have someone who can do what many can't and score regularly.

....what that proves is that Brighton has better scouts than we do!!!

Irrespective of our FFP situation, we would not have picked someone up like that, we need to take a long look at the people out there looking at talent, as they are definitely not looking in the right places.

Even if the scouts just sat at home and read Foxes Talk and presented a list of potentials taking from notable posters like @Ric Flair(I know there are other posters that suggest potential players, I just can't bring them to mind)  we would have a better grip of talent at prices that do not seek to break the bank.

The remit must have changed, we need to change it back.

Caicedo was being monitored by a lot of clubs at the time but you’re right…we were never linked with him but he does look like the real deal.

Not surprised they let Bissouma go for a relatively low fee as already had his replacement in the squad.

Typing that out loud does highlight our recent transfers being even more poorly thought out than realised.

Add the fact that we then have overpaid with dross….so many people need a polite word, unless Congerton going was the one who took the brunt of the blame?

I'd much rather have Praet than Soumare from what I've seen. Soumare probably has the potential to be better but at this stage I would rather have someone who is a more reliable performer.

I’m surprised he’s not had much of a look in so far. I would have brought him on instead of Daka on Sat as he provides more midfield link up and presence up front, which we clearly missed

To be fair, our issue is nothing to do with FFP (we're very comfortably compliant). It's that we've no space in the squad. That's why we don't need to sell Fofana or Maddison (though we would for a stupid price) but desperately want to move in Vestegaard, Choudhury etc.

...Rodgers wanted someone to make them worry about their backline, and to take away their ability to want to go forward!!!

You could well be right here, but it just beggars belief because we ALL knew Congerton was a muppet before we even signed him up. Sometimes you can only just stand and gasp at the rank stupidity on display.

Agreed mate.

How does Congerton keep getting jobs though? Can’t even accuse it of being best mates aka Rodgers style either.
