He would have been playing with elite coaches since what age? This mindset of spending a few more weeks with our coaches really doesn’t sit with me….having played at a very poor standard in comparison, one thing that I noticed was a players naturally ability to have awareness on the pitch, players around them etc - they say top players do this effortlessly. Happy for anyone to quote me on this but Soumare and evidence in a Leicester kit is that he isn’t suitable for the physicality and demand of a fast tempo that is required for a top level CM in the PL. Hamza is a prime example, other than his allergicness to the ball he isn’t cut out for us due to his shocking positional sense. Soumare is in the same category, throw in his lack of athleticism to then even put a player under pressure makes it stand out even more. Sorting out his decisions and priorities will mot make him worse.

I don’t feel there is much of a conversation. You’ve got your opinion and I think it’s wrong. You think I’m wrong. The player who mugged off Kante has not suddenly become rubbish. The player a host of clubs were talking about and watching is NOT rubbish. He has had personal issues, mental health issues (allegedly) and a lack of clarity in his role and position. I’m not in the business of dismissing young, talented people because of a few early issues. He deserves more and I think we should all give him more time, certainly. Again, though, only if that is suitable to his situation, which none of us know for sure. 4 1
mozartfox Posted 5 August 2022 Posted 5 August 2022 There will be the usual Turkish Clubs coming in very late for charitable loans with us picking up the entire wage. Plus more low balling from Italy for Praet. Eddie Howe will also be back with another derisory offer for Madders. 3 more weeks plus of this shi*. 3
LVFox Posted 6 August 2022 Posted 6 August 2022 With Onana going to Everton, selling Soumare back to Lille could be our best chance of getting rid

reynard Posted 6 August 2022 Posted 6 August 2022 Doubt he's going anywhere. French clubs won't pay what we want or can't pay what we want and he only wants to go back to France if not staying here.
Bordersfox Posted 7 August 2022 Posted 7 August 2022 Hopefully Diop will come the other way in the first swap deal in the club's history 1

Even if it's not structured as a swap. I think from memory of other posts on here Diop can play left and right side as well which with Barnes out makes him an even better option. Won't happen 😅 1
moore_94 Posted 9 August 2022 Author Posted 9 August 2022 Still not over then? AS Monaco would not have completely dropped the case concerning Boubakary Soumaré. Philippe Clement would notably see in him the missing link in the middle and would even exchange regularly with the Leicester player.

For the love of God, just put Sofiane Diop into the deal and get this damn thing done already!!!! 2

At least we don’t allow ourselves to get ripped off by these foreign clubs - especially those who just sold a midfielder for €100 mil! I’d rather we keep and use sparsely to reinforce our negotiating stance. Hamza I just can’t see how we move on. Been too spoilt with wages for his ability.

Take the money and get a winger in.
Popular Post Dames Posted 9 August 2022 Popular Post Posted 9 August 2022 Part of me feels like we're holding off on shifting players like Soumare on the cheap because it would signal a fire sale and weaken our position with the Fofana sale. I think once Fofana is out the door for a record fee we'll see some of the deadwood shifted more quietly. 5 1
Popular Post Deeg67 Posted 9 August 2022 Popular Post Posted 9 August 2022 I think Soumare's omission from the reserves against Brentford is a pretty good indication they're looking to move him one way or the other. 8

He's quite a high earner, isn't he? They're probably desperate to get him off the wage bill.

They just sold a midfielder for €100 million? 😂😂 Honestly the Italian and French clubs are an absolute embarrassment when it comes to spending money that they clearly have. Demand Premier league style fees for their players but plead poverty when it comes to buying themselves. 1

Agreed. Given he was used a lot on pre-season and largely did well, it was quite a surprise to see him not included. Somethings got to give here. If Praet is staying, if the dross like Choudhury and Vestergaard aren't leaving and Tielemans is going down to the wire then we need to look at the likes of Soumare and Iheanacho to raise funds. 2
Popular Post Sunbury Fox Posted 9 August 2022 Popular Post Posted 9 August 2022 Amazed at the apparent lack of interest in Iheanacho from other clubs, given his goal and assist record for us. Surely we could get £15m for him (just don't think we need 3 central strikers as we normally play 1 up front) and about the same for Soumaré (who I think could be an asset, based on his pre season, but who Rodgers is clear not keen on). Then ideally invest that £30m in a winger and get another winger on loan. And that's before we even flog anyone like Fofana or Youri. 5

And Everton desperate for a striker too...but in this market I'd still see him as £30M+ 4
