- Laughing emoji to acknowledge something is amusing

- Winking emoji if I'm joking and that's not 100% clear or I think the recipient might take a joke seriously and be offended

This isn't one of those surveys for a degree you're doing is it?

This is high brow Oxford Astrophysics compared to the shite I wrote in my degree back then.

My mate always think me saying haha in messages sounded sarky, I think his 'lol' usage is childish. Wanted to find the consensus really.

So we're at this stage of the transfer window.

You will be happy to know I've still got a brewery full of barrels to scrape between now and the end of the transfer window topics wise.

In fairness, this was very shit - possibly rivalling the hair products thread. I genuinely look forward to your next one.

😂 Or 🤣, if something genuinely makes me laugh I'll probably text "🤣🤣🤣 that actually made me laugh"

"lol" these days usually comes across sarcastically I find, but if I'm telling a friend a funny anecdote I might end the text with it because if I put the emojis it feels like I'm bigging my own story up too much

The lol emoji, or crying laughing one.

But I didn't actually physically laugh.

My mum uses the crying laughing one to reply to sad things bless her. I never did set her straight lol
