I miss it too.

Yeah. And our winning mentality.

Look at Rodgers going about managing expectations and dumping down our mentality once again:

There was an interview Kasper did which I love. He said you have to not only dream but truly believe in the impossible. He believed he was going to win the Premier League and he did. I would imagine he does not like Rodgers’ negative mentality (to save his job).

No, he said "we've had lots of different managers, lots of different styles".

Every possible thread now someone has to attempt morphing it into a manager/tactical bashing thread. Fair enough if you've had enough of Rodgers, last season raised so many questions but we should be respecting Kasper's time in here and not turning it into another depressive hate page.

Fair point admittedly

We have had many of the top six clubs come knocking at our door for quality players during the time that Kasper has been here

Kante

Mahrez

Maguire

Chilwell

Tielemans

and recently Maddisson

No rumours about Kasper as far as I am aware, you have to ask why.

I do not regard him as a legend footballer. Legend should be chosen wisely, a bit like hero, another overused word. I've never met or seen one.

I feel like I am bursting a nostalgic bubble so, good luck to him and I wish him much success and a long life.

Positive thinking is regarded by some as quite old fashioned, just thinking you can wish an unrealistic positive outcome can set people up for failure. Toxic positivity is a term often used these days.

Realism and hard work is where it is at, not American cod-psychology. So I'm with BR on this one. Imho obviously, but my other half is a nurse/therapist and she has to deal with the youth, who have often internalised this positive thinking stuff to their own detriment.

I don't think it's a coincidence that Kasper is leaving right at this moment. He knows more than we do about what is going on at the moment at the club and it's not a good sign. He's getting out while his legendary status is still intact and does not want to be here when the shit hits the fan. but thank you anyway Kasper you are and will ever remain a major part of the miracle that happened here.

Good luck in Nice, and many, many thanks for being a major part of our history on and off the pitch. Looking forward to seeing you at King Power as an ambassador in later years.

Legend and a bit :appl:

What a fantastic player he has been all these years. Not much more to say that hasn't already been said, but I think a word about his leadership in the aftermath of the helicopter crash is also merited,

Not only did he rush to the scene in an albeit futile attempt to assist, but in the days afterwards I believe it was guys like Kasper (and an honorable mention to Fuchs) who dragged the players forward and supported Top.

We saw more evidence of the measure of the man when Eriksen suffered his heart attack at the Euros

A true leader, would not surprise me one bit if he becomes a successful manager in the future.

Vardy isn't a Leicester Legend in your eyes then? Presumably LCFC have no 'legends' then?

I'm not sure how you might have come to that conclusion.

Vardy is a legend in my view. He came from non-league football to go on to win the Golden Boot Award in the Premier League.

He holds a record for scoring 13 goals in 11 successive Premier League matches in a single season.

In 11 years there's only the goal away at Doncaster that stands out as a completely cut-and-dry howler. Remarkable record for a keeper, much better GKs produce more glaring mistakes.

I was in my midteens when he scored against Yeovil, it's the greatest single moment during a game I'd seen at that time - the whole ground chanting his name was amazing. Still frustrating to this day it wasn't given as his goal.

Blasting the ball in to Ndidi was pretty bad away at Bournemouth

There's plenty like that, it was a mistake but I'm talking throwing the ball into your own net, spilling it a striker's feet type mistake. He's made almost none of those.  I don't think he's amazing keeper (and never really have), he's been fantastic for us generally though and going back 2 and 10 years for awful mistakes illustrates how steady he's been for us.

Yeah I can get on board with this.

I can understand Rodgers' point, it's undeniable that there are circumstances working against us.

By this point, though, most people recognise that. The only value in bleating on and on about it is his own reputation management.

A good manager would take the situation as it is and try to make the best of it by creating a siege mentality. Asking for sympathy isn't going to do that.

Feels like we're onto a loser before we've kicked a ball.
