The club has been naive enough to believe that our top six spot was consolidated under Rodgers, and now we're stuck with a top six expenditure that we can't afford and a group of disheartened players because they aren't playing in Europe as expected. The team he fielded today was weaker then the team he fielded in his first match, in 2019. How is that even possible?

Spin the wheel, bet it all on black and then weep as the ball drops into red. 5th, 5th, out of Europa, out of the conference, no European income, players all with extended high-wage deals that are impossible to move on. That's how. We just have to hope there's a sensible plan to get us back on track that doesn't completely break up the playing side.

I read it that the Mahrez fee was paid upfront as a way of paying off the training ground loan more quickly. The loans for bothe Seagrave and the expansion were taken out within months of each other. I have no idea how it works with the expansion loan being paid off given that nearly 2 years later virtually nothing has been done.

Mahrez fee was 30 million upfront and 34 in 2 x 17 million installments from memory of what was said at the FCC when they announced the training ground.

It was the Harry deal that was pretty much all upfront.

I’ve not long been home and have been stewing on today after a long drive.

I’m going to play devils advocate. Rodgers must obviously take some of the blame for our slide, but the core of the issue has been recruitment. Our recruitment has been brilliant in our recent history as we all know, but at the moment we are carrying too many dossers who don’t add any value. How much of that is BRs fault? Probably some, but recruitment is a collective endeavour these days.

Recruitment is also a factor in the absolute dearth of leadership on the pitch. My wife shouts at me more than any of our players shout at each other. We were low on leadership before our Captain left.

The Fofana situation also seems a contributing factor, as is Tielemans. Both can now go in my view and in Tielemans case for a cut price fee. Tielemans doesn’t want to be here, it’s just that he’s not daft enough to do what Fofana has.

Rodgers has also a minimal role or no role possibly in contract negotiations, which is also weighing heavy. We have dross on money that no one else wants to match.

I’m unsure replacing the manager will address the core problem is what I’m trying to say. But we certainly to do something.

And I really don’t understand the logic of criticising Rodgers for poor in game decision making by players. Rodgers doesn’t tell the players to give the ball away etc.

A lot said there and not very coherent, but forgive me I’ve driven 6 hours today.

A change of tactics will help us so a new manager is a must , his persistence with playing Vardy upfront is an abomination of the highest order. Prime Vardy for sure he could do it, but right now Vardy needs to play in a two upfront and don’t get me started on Amartey.

I agree absolutely. I said today let’s go with a front 2. Whenever we’ve had a front 2 it looks dangerous - and having a 36 year old on his own is starting to look a little silly. God knows what Iheanacho has to do, he was the top scorer the other year ffs!

I really hope Vardy / Albrighton / Evans have words with Top re Rodgers something needs to give.

Because 2 key players have downed tools, and we haven’t refreshed and rely on players who are on the gradual declining (bar a few).

BR needs to address the lack of positivity and pressing from the front.

We won't win the league this year, but we have a good side when we play positively.

Surely BR is the problem with his crappy possession tactics

For me it comes down to these issues: Transfer embargo, Rodgers confidence, players wanting moves. It's a perfect storm.

We need to solve two out of those three to start moving forward again.

I'd say so. Hence he needs to address it.

We have a fair amount of talent in the squad but they appear stifled at the moment. When we play positively from the front we look better all over the pitch.

Now this is the voice of reason. **** off with passing it about at the back.

Timmy, jj, madders, Barnes, kdh, vardy etc All players that look better going which way. And it ain't towards our own goal.

What difference will BR make, he trots out the same excuses every week he and his staff coaching are the problem. It seems we have been looking at them with rosey tinted glasses since the two 5th places but if you look last season and now that seems to be current state of play so the the 5th place seasons count for nothing now do you really think if he stays we are going to be become top 5 again? that ship had sailed or to be more accurate sank.

What I meant was, how is it even possible to not have a better team now, after over three years of being in charge? This was our team in Rodgers' first game:

Schmeichel

Evans

Morgan

Maguire

Ricardo

Tielemans

Ndidi

Chilwell

Maddison

Barnes

Vardy

We have a weaker team now, despite three years of squad investment. That is appalling. Just shows how overrated Rodgers is, he inherited a top six side and made us worse. A truly elite level manager would've made us top four regulars had he inherited the same and been backed as much as Rodgers has.

**** me… that really highlights how bad it has been. How much money has been spent during Brendan’s time here? Because I can bet that not even half of the investment is in that squad.

Tielemans 40m

Perez 30m

Praet 17m

Justin 6m

Fofana 32m

Castagne 19m

Daka 27m

Soumare 18m

Vestergaard 16m

Rodgers has spent £205 million and failed to improve the team. All his talk of not being backed is nonsense! Definitely not the right manager for a rebuild.

Obviously you’ve grown up a bit over the years but the thought of you being the voice of reason is pretty funny. 😂

Still at least your not suggesting putting the fourth or fifth best paid manager in the league on indefinite gardening leave as a viable option.

The members of the spine of the team have ether aged and got injury prone, left or want to leave.Yet I keep hearing we have the best first eleven outside the top 6.

Firstly, I'm angry right now after today. We controlled the game went 1-0 up then shït it.

On another note, I don't think we can sack Brendan.

We sell Fofana for £80/£85m what ever the fee may be then sack Rodgers.

We owe 20% of the profits to St Ettiene then we would owe Rodgers £30m. That's is practically that money gone.

Then adding to that, who takes the job? Who could we get that is good enough to turn us around and meet or expectations?

a voice of reason

hmm where to begin

okay

ditch Rogers 30 mill he takes a job in within 3 years  goes down

we go down then monies secured against future tv rights is diminished

get relegated hells teeth

the organ grinder needs to go

Rodgers has had £200 million to eradicate this, and he wasted it.
