Matt Posted 23 August 2022 Posted 23 August 2022 Surely making this public knowledge weakens our negotiating power somewhat? I mean I’m not naïve enough to think it wouldn’t get out, all it takes is Fofana, his agent, anyone, to leak it but for the manager to just offer it into the public domain not really sure why he’d do that. 3

Because we just drew 0-0 with Stockport 😂 anything to distract from how s*** he is 3
Clarkey123 Posted 23 August 2022 Posted 23 August 2022 No doubt will see Chelsea leave it until deadline day to stump up the £80mil, leaving us no time to reinvest the money until January; where we’ll be quoted extortionate prices and decide not to do any business until next summer

alanf0x Posted 23 August 2022 Posted 23 August 2022 (edited) Chelsea dragging their feet this week to unsettle the club as much as possible before Saturday. Leicester will drag theirs so he doesn’t play against us Saturday. Deal will be done early next week Edited 23 August 2022 by alanf0x 1

Makes that celebration when he scored after coming back from injury and running to Rodgers all rather a long time ago. Really annoys me when a player is happy to sign a contract but wonder why the club do not want to sell so soon after or at the very least insist on a fee they feel is required. 1
Popular Post Mr Weller 2 Posted 23 August 2022 Popular Post Posted 23 August 2022 What’s the matter with some people on here? They are becoming so bitter, so abusive and so unreasonable. Rodgers and the club have dealt with this really well whatever you think about Rodgers more generally. Fofana is a young man in a business dominated by money. He is surrounded by greedy advisers and they’re dangling untold riches before his eyes. He has behaved like a spoilt brat but he can learn and become a better man for it. Yes, the team are going through a difficult period and yes there are some serious questions about the manager but some people are so vile on here it’s becoming poisonous. Banter and humour are part of a fans’ forum but surely we don’t have to resort to witless personal abuse. The club has some problems at the moment but to read some posts you’d think we were facing imminent relegation and bankruptcy. We’ve survived an awful lot worse in our history as have other clubs so it’s hardly the complete disaster some are suggesting. Be angry and passionate but not hateful and abusive. 17 4

Chelmofox Posted 23 August 2022 Posted 23 August 2022 These is crazy on so many levels. Fofana is a little twat who does not deserve the chances that have been offered to him. Brendan announcing it feels outright weird. Is it part of his excuses package and did he go off script? Can you imagine being part of the squad right now. But most of all, the way Chelsea have navigated this has been horrific. They have engineered this and fcud with a young players head. How I wish they had been wound up last season and it sickens me they are still around causing this mayhem. Doing the same with Gordon at Everton. Preferred them in the 90s when they were shit and a team full of midgets. 1

SixtiesFox Posted 23 August 2022 Posted 23 August 2022 Mind boggling! Rodgers is only concerned about advancing a narrative that favours him. He is preparing the way for his own exit from a ship he is helping to sink. The club must see this. They must get rid!
yorkie1999 Posted 23 August 2022 Posted 23 August 2022 I’ve heard the u23’s ain’t too happy with the club, not to do with this but being told to be in the same as the first team which means they don’t get a day off because they play on Fridays.

The feel good atmosphere surrounding the club has well and truly gone 1

How does it weaken the negotiation, he's still on a 5 year contract , he wants the move , they want him and we're showing we won't tolerate the c**ts antics! I think it strengthens our case cos we're showing we won't tolerate his petulance or Chelseas attempts to get him for less than we want! 2 1

Only way back would be to let him sulk for a bit, then when he realizes he has no other option and of course has a signed long term contract, maybe he'll lower himself to attempting to fulfill said contract. What an a--. Deserves all the negative s--- coming his way. 1

Scotch Posted 23 August 2022 Posted 23 August 2022 Such a crap situation for the club and unless we call Chelsea's bluff and they finally stilump up a fair fee I don't see us winning this one. Either we fold and sell him for lower than our valuation or we don't and hope that he screws the nut once he realises he's not getting his move. Or he doesn't, continues to spit the dummy out and we banish him to the u23's where his value will keep decreasing and we will likely end up with a smaller fee than that we we offered in the next window. Meanwhile we have to play Amartey or Vestegaard because Rodgers for one reason or another doesn't seem keen on playing Soyuncu.
Bats8711 Posted 23 August 2022 Posted 23 August 2022 (edited) Why would we want him training with the u21s even? Edited 23 August 2022 by Bats8711
