The structure may be £700m more expensive but it does not earn them anything. If it became the place to host International sporting events and was a venue being used all year round then you could see it being a very good asset where its size and location justified the cost.

There will, although granted not to such an extent. Seagrave we have the 100m cost plus interest payments to make on it. West Ham no longer have to keep an old stadium running or pay for a new one or refurbish the old one. They also get the upside of an additional 25000 seats to sell. The money they would have had to spend had they not been given the stadium for free and the interest on the loan they would have taken to do that would definitely have made a discernible difference. Building a new stadium in London would have cost them a fortune like their free one did the taxpayer or Spurs spent and are now in the most amount of debt in the league over.

They could see their squad wasnt strong enough- they had a rocky start with pretty much the same 11 they fielded last season- similar to us in many ways- the big difference is they have gone and spent well over £150m quid to make sure they are right up there again this season and dont drop away- they also didnt sell their prime asset in Declan Rice in the way we have- they had 3 or 4 new players in the team Sunday- got their win and obviously will move up the table with the quality of players they have brought in

Really does show the state of affairs we are in-  although I am not a Rodgers fan at all and im firmly in the Rodgers out camp now- have been since he picked Amartey at left CB again away at Arsenal- he definitely has not been supported this year to make us competitive- our recruitment team should be buying the best talent in that 20-30m price bracket from all around the world- should have been the same last season-  I wouldnt let Rodgers make the decison on any of them but the club should be providing him with the tools to at least have a chance of being successful- West ham spent 8m on a sub keeper for god sake and we havent even replaced our number 1

 

When you look at the quality of player we are being linked with like Faes and Bogo compared to even just the west ham signings above its a complete horror show- add to that the number of young players that have moved this summer to other clubs that we should have been all over but havent been and it really has been a disasterous past 3 transfer windows catching up with us

 

 

Thing is, last season I was being told by all you young kids playing fifa and hipsters that Daka and Soumare were 2 of the best signings going. Both have been tripe so far.

I can’t see why you think we have been mismanaged. We still have the same squad as last season which finished 8th apart from Fofana and Schmeichel who both wanted to leave and hopefully a lot of the Fofana money will be spent. You can’t just keep bringing more players in without selling because of FFP and that is where the issue lies, too many average squad players are on big wages- but that is a recruitment issue not mismanagement.

They may have had a better transfer window on paper but lets just see how it pans out . Also  we’ve had more success  than West Ham in recent years . Buying a shed load of players doesn’t always work out .

Back in day most of us were familiar with the signings. We had all seen Jon Sammels or Frank Worthington play. Nowadays with all the overseas players not nearly so much. Could I ask those with opinions on linked players how much is based on actually seeing these players play at least a few times or based more on stats?

I remember hearing Sullivan when he became largest shareholder on talksport moaning about the mismanagement of the club with crap players being given large contracts and they’d have to work to get the club back into shape.
