And, as it’s been said on this thread, I’d rather be owned by King Power than Saudi Arabia. Let’s see if our guy can sort it out, I think we all can agree that Top cares about the club.

Worryingly, some don't.

I think any football fan with a brain would know that signing players like Vestergaard and Bertrand would indicate the way your clubs going.

It’s bad business. Top’s surrounded himself with Yes Men who sadly haven’t got a clue about setting transfer philosophy or a philosophy and culture around the club. We used to sign young up and coming talent, players like Maddison, Justin, Gray (to an extent) and so many more players. Now we’re frankly buying any old shit to plug a gap. It’s poor business.

Appealing to the fans in the programme is a bit shocking too. Justify yourself by putting what is best for Leicester first, by sacking the manager, taking accountability for your bad financial decisions and ultimately getting the fans on side. Fans respect owners more who do the right thing at the right time. We could see what was happening against Southampton at home. Fans don’t want free beers that they have to throw seconds before entering the turnstiles or clap banners or flags, they want attacking football and entertainment.

There’s nothing shocking about honestly explaining the situation to people. It shows a great more respect for people than some people on here are showing the owners. Do they get everything right all the time? No, of course not, but they do get it right the vast majority of the time.

We didn’t back down on the Boga transfer, so I think it more likely we gave one man too much say and have now drawn it back in.

That’s not to say there aren’t other issues, but it’s one.

Those pre-match notes from Top wreak of a man who’s trying to sell the club. - Make it all sound rosey and well-managed (whilst also removing Kasper off the wage bill, lowering Vardy’s pay, selling Fofana and not really investing this summer, to keep the finances in as best shape as possible).

If things were good, they’d be making signings.
As it is, they’re not, so they haven’t.

The best thing Top can do now is sack Brendan. (I think it’s also obvious BR wants to be sacked. - He knows he’s lost his mojo here and without the funds to bring in 4-5 new faces each window, he can’t continue to get the most out of this group. Things are stale. He also seems reluctant to promote and try any of the current youth talent). The players need a change, and quick! They look lost and angry with themselves and each other. Evening ****ing Luke Thomas and JJ had the audacity to yell back and gesture at the East Stand tonight. It’s toxic behind the scenes.

Sort it out, Top.

Any football fan? The 4th highest paid manager in the premier league didn’t realise they are shit that’s why the board pay him so much. Top shouldn’t need to know anything about football he’s not a scout he just signs the Cheques

The board probably giving BR the benefit of the doubt and hoping he can show us the money they spent last summer isn’t 100% wasted before they start ploughing a load more money on the same strategy and decisions made by the same people (ie. BR and his recruitment team)

They have too much power to the chump in charge, they did the same to Ranieri. They need to keep it to club men and **** everyone is coming else. Manager wants our fitness team, no. Manager wants head of recruitment, no.

Get leaders in those areas and **** the manager.

This, we have a philosophy and process and that’s what we should stick to, the incoming managers should buy into that or don’t employ them if their ideas don’t align.  The identity and strategy stays the same no matter who’s in charge. The board allowed Rodger’s and Ranieri to start changing things then success turns to what we’re seeing now.

I’m not calling for Pearson to return but he helped the club build the ‘club identity’ and we just seem so lost and far away from that at all levels at the minute.

Last summer's spend has been a waste. None of those players broke into the first team. Perez and Kel's, betrand, vestergaard are wack.

Only player to break through was KDH. We've effectively got the same first team from 2 seasons ago. Minus kasper

Also how can they not secure tielemans contract? They been talking about it for 9 months now.

FFS some people on this forum need to get a grip we've had one quiet summer and people are going into a tail spin about the board that have given the club the most success it's ever had

Edit: Spelt Quiet wrong

Just a shame it’s the quiet summer when we really did need reinforcements…

Bar Evans and Maddison, We

watching a Championship team

Totally agree…. Under Rodgers we have had Perez, Praet come in and fail also..

A RW was a must though this summer regardless of situation..

We're not. We have good players that are not currently playing well due toultiple factors including management, coaches and unsupportive atmosphere around the club. A couple of good results and we will be showing our talent again

18 months this has been going on for nearly..

have you seen our inept performances during that time?

This was coming…

Folks seems to think we will just play our way out of this slump..

this is not just this season… it goes way back….

The big picture is we’re in the shit..

The bigger picture is relegation means we’re doomed..

I wonder how many player contracts have relegation/wage clauses in them ?

We have had one quiet window I'd might agree with you if you were talking about the manager not the board though

I have no doubt that TOP is sincere in his address to us supporters , but really it does little to help us supporters who see our team bottom on the ladder , we sign one out field player who really is only 30% of what we sold and he tells us the club comes 1st , WHAT I would love to know is how the hell did we get to this situation and who has lost there job for letting it happen , bet we never hear 👂

I've said it for a while now and this is not letting brend.a off as we all know he is a fraud piece of trash, but Top has spent too long feeding off his father's scraps, the club has been badly run since that terrible day, Top is no Vichai that's for sure

I welcome Tops explanation tonight, but it might have been more timely to have it when season tickets were being sold and kids were having Forfana printed on their shirts. I agree with all of the logic within it and see he has identified and addressed our concerns about the overall financial security of the club. The one variable is where he says “make room in the squad”, Vestergaard, Perez, Mendy etc needed bids acceptable to the club and terms to the players but they didn’t come due mainly to their current wages, had this happened things may be different.
I hope “short term” means get through this season to a stage where several contracts are up and wiggle room is created whether those players like it or not. Two criticisms then, how did those players come to be on such big money and why were the club not this transparent in June?

In truth the only right time for this was last night unfortunately, to do it any sooner would have been crazy. Admitting our position earlier, would have effectively invited a fire sale, our better players would have been unsettled and the risk of losing players for reduced fees would have been a very strong reality.

We have kept quiet so we could conduct any incoming or outgoing  transfer business this summer with a view to securing the best possible deals for Leicester City. If we had shifted players out for the valuation we wanted then Rodgers would have had more room for manoeuvre.

The board couldn’t have done anything else really given our situation and I think Rodgers has gone more than a bit rogue in his press conferences of the last few weeks where he started to drop little snippets that highlighted pretty much what Top confirmed last night.

The new FFP rules will affect all clubs. Yet we seem to be pretty much the only club in Europe that has taken such a strict stance on transfers. Does this mean we’re in a worse financial position than every other club or does it just mean we’re being more cautious than everybody else?

I just want to say, criticising the board, Top etc. for what has been a poor period of the club, is not saying that you’re against the ownership. You can still respect the ownership and criticise.

It the situation we are in. For the direction this club is going, the criticism is justified. We are currently a business who are trying to compete with competitors who have invested in new shiny machines. Instead of matching those investments, we are carrying on with our outdated machine which needs significant maintenance. We are genuine relegation candidates. We can go down. If we do go down, we will have wasted many years of continued growth - we will set the club back years. That all doesn’t fall at Brendan’s door (even though a lot of it does).

Every game is a must win now. Lose against Brighton and the pain intensifies.

to the board - I get things like infrastructure, balancing books are important long term strategies but on field investment has to be the priority. Without that everything else is pointless.

there has been serious neglect T in this regard. You can only milk it for so long. I do sympathize with Rogers. This squad needs investment! We are in real trouble now like it or not.

All you have to do is Google Leicester City board members to see who should get a fair share of criticism.

Nevertheless not getting 3 points against Brentford and Southampton was totally Brendan Rodgers

We used to have industry leading teams that were pioneers. Its an absolute shambles that the board let those teams fall behind the rest of the league. It was what set us apart, not the manager.
