Rodgers (Allegedly) Publicly Calls the Players Not Good Enough and Throws Them Under the Bus

It’s a toxic situation but I’m sorry, it’s down to the board. If they’ve not given him the tools to do his job he’s gonna say it. If the club don’t believe in him and think he’s wrong they need to sack him.

The problem is Brendan has overfilled his toolbox with tools that he now doesn’t think are good enough ti get the job done. A poor workman always blames his tools.

He is paid a lot of money to motivate the already bloated and over expensive squad we have. Now he is blaming the owners?

he needs to get the fvck out of this club the dirty disrespectful little leprechaun .

Peter Taylor, yes his "recruitment  strategy" was absolutely awful.

Brendan can cry to the press all he wants about not being supported through lack of player recruitment. But he's STILL falling way short of getting the best out of what he currently has at his disposal.

Brendan, the clue is in your job title. You're a manager. SO MANAGE.

The point that has been made, and I did not fully appreciate till now, is that he is trying to make it known that it is not his fault, it is "someone" else's.

He appears to be doing a good job of that outside of here.

For example after tonight's farce I did not see one commentator ask what the point was in bringing Daka on so late ?

Has he got some dirt on them ??

Surely in that case, it's the exact same club it was 2 years ago

But standing still is the same as falling behind. Being the same means we have stagnated and not progressed.

You can't justify a team finishing just outside the European places last season to being bottom of the league after a couple of players leave.

Simply isn't good enough

The thing is most managers would want to come in a be able to spend in January.

Can we offer them that ?

I would love Marcelino but would he come here.

We don't necessarily need to spend as such. Tielemans proved that there's clever loans out there if you scout properly. But how far we are adrift will definitely affect who we get. The worse off our position, the less attractive we become. No-one will want to be the manager at the helm when Leicester were relegated.

Desperate for us to get a manager with a bit of passion after Rodgers inevitably goes.

After Rodgers and Puel, having someone who shows a bit more emotion on the touchline would be a breath of fresh air.

In the interview I saw, it was the complete opposite he praised the team and they gave their all, if anything he moaned about the lack of transfers, so more him having a go at those above him, which not sure a wise thing when you bottom of the table ? 🙄

He’s just covering his arse, making sure everyone outside of the club thinks it’s all Leicester's fault and not his when he gets sacked

And it'll work as per.

He’s been saying this for months though? He said they weren’t good enough to beat Forest when they were in Championship. And he’s been hinting that the board haven’t supported him all summer.

Obviously he’s talking nonsense still, this squad is more than good enough to finish in the top half, but this comment is nothing new.

I agree. We have a good squad. Even players like Gray who could only sit on the bench here is doing well elsewhere in an EPL team that is higher than us. Praet is a Belgian international and he is a first team player in Serie A. Soumare showed yesterday he can play. Nacho is obviously a huge talent and could walk into any team outside of the top six (I argue he is good enough for top six too). Maddison, Tielemans, Barnes and Vardy are all top players who could play in the Top 6 as shown by constant transfer speculation with them. KDH is in my opinion a Top 6 player. Our squad even without reinforcement should not be bottom of the league.

Marcelino lost to us 2015/16. He might see us as a step up?

Paid like an elite manager and that's a far cry from what we're getting, he's something like the 7th best paid manager in the world. If you look at real elite managers like Pep and Klopp they never get the sack from anywhere and their sides go from strength to strength. Rodgers couldn't even sort the corner problem out and you never know if he's going to play a back four or five which to me tells me he has no idea what to do but hoping something sticks.

He's done here now that he's throwing everyone under the bus but himself, he's just waiting for the sack and the pay off. He's become too toxic and is just waiting to be sacked.

We still have the majority of the side that looked like it would coast to a top four spot, it's criminal what he's getting out of this team and his substitutions are never with conviction, like his corners he's clueless when he has a problem to solve and taken out his comfort zone.

Agreed. However our defence is relegation standard and we need a clear out. Too many injury prone or shit defenders in the club.

Easily one of the most preposterous statements I’ve seen on FT.  And that’s a high bar.

Haha. I realise it would be controversial and not realistic with fans.

I don’t know how you can view this missive as anything but Rodgers daring the owners to fire him.  There’s no going back from this in terms of his relationship with the board or the players.  He’s basically taking the view that he can’t lose either way, and declaring himself bigger than the team.

Of course, this is the guy Rodgers has always been.  It’s just that for a long time a lot of people chose not to see it.
