Rodgers (Allegedly) Publicly Calls the Players Not Good Enough and Throws Them Under the Bus

Do you think it’s imminent though?

No idea, but I don't see how the club ignore it much longer. Where's the next point, let alone winning coming from? Once this compiles and the noise gets louder, they will act.

Honestly you don't see either until Bournemouth away, depending on what their new manager gets them doing. But, that'd be 7 defeats on the trot and surely they can't let it get that bad?

So we could fetch between £15-30 mil.

For Tielemans, Cags and Perez.

Obviously these players good enough to attract demands from other clubs but Brendan Rogers declared yesterday that our team/squad weakened.

I believed that players just lost their faith and stop playing for him.

Why doesn’t he mention the money he has wasted on Perez, Vestergaaard, Bertrand, Praet, Soumare,Daka, Bennett, Under

When he was asked prior to the Chelsea game, he effectively says they weren't meant as anything more than backup.

When a team is confident and playing well getting results, Rodgers seems an excellent manager. But once things start to derail, he gets two-faced and very untrustworthy.

Villa will get hammered by Man City on Saturday and I think Gerrard will be under massive pressure, possibly even gone by the time we play each other next weekend.

I could see Villa wanting Rodgers, but they are also very ambitious enough to think they could attract Pocchetino and you never know with him. Also would Rodgers walk away from us for a pay cut? Is any other club going to pay him £10m a year? I'd say no, so the temptation to get paid off first will be very real, especially as he's doing very well with the narrative it's not at all his fault.

I don't think the money will be an issue for Villa they seem stupid enough to offer big contracts so I wouldn't be concerned by that. However I'm not sure they'd pursue Rodgers with Poch free and available whilst he's still employed so the Villa job probably will pass him by unless he himself forces the issue and resigns.

They may want Rodgers on the basis that he has previously managed some of their bigger assets, Coutinho, Ings.

Yet yesterday he was saying theres a real lack of depth while most of those players are sat on the bench. He’s basically admitting those signings weren’t good enough while refusing to take responsibility for them.

Absolutely, but he will say it's the recruitment team's responsibility - ironically an area he's gotten an increased say in since Congerton's departure. Funny how he praises the work they have done - he's effectively patting his own back again - and absolving himself again from any responsibility of this transfer window failure.

He has said before he is a Villa fan.

Could definitely see that happening actually whereas absolutely no chance he comes to us. We are now fishing in bottom 6 premier league ponds. Sleepwalking out of the division

Barnes,Vardy,Madison,Tielemans,KDH,

Ndidid,sitting behind!!

We all thought they together would find their way....Brendan has tried them again & again...They havent produced.

Brendan has the right to ask questions of the board & lack of support ...:dunno:

Not really. Brendan's a bit like Eric Morecambe on the piano, he 'plays all the right notes but not necessarily in the right order'. You'd have to be a complete dunderhead of a manager to not get anything at all from this squad.

Enter Brendan the Dunderhead 🤣

I think Villa could potentially pull Potter in with him being a Solihull lad.

This could potentially be what the owners are waiting for to save paying BR off.
There’s  always a sacking or two in September, then the domino effect begins naturally.

Hopefully we aren’t cut adrift by then.
It’s just a case who blinks first.

Feel sorry for Faes. On the day he signs and says all the right things, BR says in his next press conference that yes we've lost quality; question put to him in a direct comparison of Faes and Smithies versus Fofana and Schmeichel. He may end up not being as good as Fofana, (time will tell) but show some diplomacy with your answers BR. Bloke's not even put his boots on for us yet and his confidence is being undermined.

If he's not been backed then he's not been backed.

The impression pre transfer window opening was one of strengthening the squad in the window. If that hasn't happened then that's not BR's fault is it!!!! What do the majority on here think should happen?? Rodgers dig his hand in his own pocket and buy some players for us??

Too many fans on here berating BR instead of looking higher up the food chain AS well.

That's what I mean, but it was BR who had that impression from the club before the transfer window and he made many remarks. Surely he was given some assurance from the club? Hard to believe he made it all up. This might be why in part he's so hacked off as well

Mate, read Top’s version of events in the programme notes.

Not saying Top and co haven’t been arrogant thinking we won’t get pulled into trouble BUT Rodgers whining is nothing but him playing politician and saving his brand.

He has been trusted with over 200m of spending yet how many improved our starting 11?

He is meant to be an “elite” coach with great man management yet he’s showing the polar opposite.
