Could be that Top doesn't want to shell out on sacking Brendan if he isn't convinced the next guy coming in can definitely keep us up (if that makes sense), thus saving himself an extra £10m on top of what we'd lose from relegation anyway. 

 

I think it could also be an FFP thing- we must be well-****ed in that regard for Rodgers to still be here.

For the millionth and one time it's not £10m unless we pay the new manager £10m or their salary for the rest of the season and compensation equates to that.
