FoxOnWheels Posted 21 January 2023 Posted 21 January 2023 You’d hope this means we are confident of bringing in another winger

Then in his second season played in every round of the FA cup as we won it for the first time in our history. Yes we paid way too much for him, but the fact that some of our fan base see him as some sort of Junior Lewis/Ryan mcgivern figure shows just how far we've come as a football club. Not sure you could compare those players as he cost about 34 million times as much
StriderHiryu Posted 21 January 2023 Posted 21 January 2023 Would it be fair to say Perez is the most despised member of the squad during the Rodgers era? Well it's probably Vestergaard or Bertrand, but it's a hotly contested topic for sure!
UHDrive Posted 21 January 2023 Posted 21 January 2023 Let's hope the club don't go soft on him and make Betis pay a loan fee and full salary. 1

There's a salary cap in La Liga IIRC, so we'll almost certainly be paying a percentage of his wages. We pay him £80k a week btw. That's £80,000. A week. For Ayoze Perez's services. 'Services'. 1

I don't know too much about loan fees but is there a cap on that or could we charge £3-5mil?
RizLCFC Posted 21 January 2023 Posted 21 January 2023 Article says we are not charging a loan fee, they better be covering his wages, otherwise we may as well keep him.
dbtcity Posted 22 January 2023 Posted 22 January 2023 For all the slander it will just be like us to allow him to leave on loan without charging a fee only to completely fvck up our pursuit of a Right winger 1
Wolfox Posted 22 January 2023 Posted 22 January 2023 I’ve been to the Betis stadium…. It’s the workers side in Seville…. Good support and cracking stadium…. Beers at 1 euro a bottle outside the ground…. I may go and say hello again! 1

I bet they aren’t covering 80k/week loan fee and wages. Assume he gets no loyalty payment from us if he leaves on a free. even if we are saving 50k/week it helps.

Vestergaard has been the worst IMO. - Perez has a high fee but that wasn’t his fault. When we were at our best in the Rodgers era, he was in the team. Always put in a shift, just massively average. - Bertrand got injured almost right away and then had further setbacks. - Vestergaard was a panic buy, which wasn’t his fault. But he was awful in almost every appearance and decides to stick around despite an offer coming in. But I think you can make an argument for any of the 3. 1
DezFox Posted 22 January 2023 Posted 22 January 2023 Perez was never good enough. He is not the worst player ever but it’s only the fee which makes him such a bad signing. If he was about 10-15 mill I think we would all be saying average player, not quite good enough 1

He did have games where he was good and did contribute to the fa cup win. I felt he tried in every game and could put a pass and score a few goals, just too light weight and not really up to the standard expected of a £30m. Player. Most despised - most definitely not. dbtcity Posted 22 January 2023 Posted 22 January 2023 Have we been linked with any players from Roma to sweeten the deal 👀…. If we get Zaniolo in exchange I will personally piggy back Perez to Rome 1
